John Mansfield (August 1822May 6, 1896) was an Americans, American lawyer, Republican Party (United States), Republican politician, and Union Army officer in the American Civil War. He commanded the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment in the famous Iron Brigade and later served as the List of Lieutenant Governors of California, 15th lieutenant governor of California. Beverley (UK Parliament Constituency)
Beverley has been the name of a parliamentary constituency in the East Riding of Yorkshire for three periods. From medieval times until 1869 it was a parliamentary borough consisting of a limited electorate of property owners of its early designated borders within the market town of Beverley, which returned (elected) two Members of Parliament to the House of Commons of the English and Welsh-turned-UK Parliament during that period (sometimes called burgesses). A form of a Beverley seat was revived for a single-member county constituency created in 1950, abolished in 1955, and similarly between the 1983 and 1992 general elections inclusive after which the area was largely incorporated into one 1997-created seat Beverley and Holderness; the remainder of the seat contributed to two other late 20th century-created seats. John Mansfield (American Politician)
John Mansfield (August 1822May 6, 1896) was an American lawyer and Republican politician. He was the 15th lieutenant governor of California. During the American Civil War, he was a Union Army officer serving in the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment in the famous Iron Brigade of the Army of the Potomac. He took command of the regiment during the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg and remained in command until the regiment was disbanded in the fall of 1864. Vice Admiral Sir John Maurice Mansfield KCB, DSO, DSC (22 December 1893 – 4 February 1949) was a Royal Navy officer who became Flag Officer Submarines. Naval career Educated at the Royal Naval College, Osborne, and the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Mansfield joined the Royal Navy in 1906. After serving in the First World War, he became commanding officer of the cruiser HMS ''Norfolk'' in October 1937 and of the cruiser HMS ''Devonshire'' in May 1939. John Vincent Mansfield (born 13 September 1946) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League as a midfielder for Colchester United. Career Born in Colchester, Mansfield signed for hometown club Colchester United as an apprentice, breaking into the first team in 1964 the day before his 18th birthday on 12 September in a 3–0 defeat to Brentford at Layer Road. He scored his first goal for the club on 10 May 1966 in a 1–0 victory at Southport. Mansfield was involved in 34 Football League games between his debut in 1964 and his final game in 1968, a 1–0 home defeat to Workington in the League Cup on 4 September. He had scored three goals for the club with his final goal scored on 3 December 1966 in a 4–0 away win against Darlington. John Mansfield (judge)
John Ronald Mansfield is an Australian jurist and former Justice of the Federal Court of Australia. He served from 1996 to 2016 and sat in the court's South Australian registry. Mansfield was educated at Saint Ignatius' College, Adelaide before graduating from the University of Adelaide with Honours in Law. He was admitted as a practitioner in 1969 and later appointed Queen's Counsel for South Australia in 1985 and for the Northern Territory in 1988. He was appointed to the Federal Court of Australia in September 1996. Mansfield has served as President of the South Australian Law Society in 1988–89, President of the Law Council of Australia from 1993–1994 and Chairman of the Legal Aid Committee for the Law Council of Australia from 1986-94.
