John Macnish
John Macnish is a British television producer & Self shooting director based in France. He was a TV producer at the BBC studios. He currently films & produces for Channel 4 television. Life John Surgeon Macnish was born in Carlisle, England on 25 September 1956. He was educated at Austin Friars School, Carlisle, and Sheffield University, receiving a degree in Prehistory & Archaeology. As a television producer, he worked for the BBC before setting up his own company, Circlevision Ltd, in 1991. He served as a Senior Lecturer and course leader in Television Production at the University of Central Lancashire from 2009 to 2014. Desmond Morris
Desmond John Morris FLS ''hon. caus.'' (born 24 January 1928) is an English zoologist, ethologist and surrealist painter, as well as a popular author in human sociobiology. He is known for his 1967 book ''The Naked Ape'', and for his television programmes such as ''Zoo Time''. Early life Morris was born in Purton, Wiltshire, to Marjorie (née Hunt) and children's fiction author Harry Morris. In 1933, the Morrises moved to Swindon where Desmond developed an interest in natural history and writing. He was educated at Dauntsey's School, a boarding school in Wiltshire. In 1946, Morris joined the British Army for two years of national service, becoming a lecturer in fine arts at the Chiseldon Army College in Wiltshire. After being demobilised in 1948, he held his first one-man show of his own paintings at the Swindon Arts Centre, and studied zoology at the University of Birmingham. Beagle 2
The ''Beagle 2'' is an inoperative British Mars lander that was transported by the European Space Agency's 2003 ''Mars Express'' mission. It was intended to conduct an astrobiology mission that would have looked for evidence of past life on Mars. The spacecraft was successfully deployed from the ''Mars Express'' on 19 December 2003 and was scheduled to land on the surface of Mars on 25 December. ESA, however, received no communication from the lander at its expected landing time on Mars, and declared the mission lost in February 2004 after numerous attempts to contact the spacecraft were made. The ''Beagle 2'' fate remained a mystery until January 2015, when it was located on the surface of Mars in a series of images from NASA's ''Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter'' HiRISE camera. Colin Pillinger
Colin Trevor Pillinger, (; 9 May 1943 – 7 May 2014) was an English planetary scientist. He was a founding member of the Planetary and Space Sciences Research Institute at Open University in Milton Keynes, he was also the principal investigator for the British ''Beagle 2'' Mars lander project, and worked on a group of Martian meteorites. Education and early life Pillinger was born on 9 May 1943 in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, just outside Bristol. ''Scrapheap Challenge'' is a British television show where teams of contestants build a working machine that can perform a specific task, using materials available in a scrapyard. The series features teams of four or five members who are given ten hours (based around sunset) to build vehicles or machines to complete a specific task, such as a trebuchet, or complete a racecourse whilst acting as a gyroscope. The programme ran for eleven series and was originally shown on Channel 4. The format was exported to the United States, where it was known as ''Junkyard Wars''. ''Pawn Stars UK'' was a British reality television series which debuted on 26 August 2013 on the British version of the History channel and ran until 10 November 2014. The series is filmed in Sealand, Flintshire in Wales, and chronicles the day-to-day activities of pawn shop Regal Pawn, collaboratively run by Mark Andrew Manning, Mark Lever Holland, Marco Peter Holland, Simon Penworth, and Vicki Manning. A spin-off of the prominent American reality television series ''Pawn Stars'' (2009–present), the show's format is similar to the latter show, as it features an array of collectible, antique and unusual items that people sell or pawn.
