John M. Fitzpatrick
John M. Fitzpatrick (15 July 1948 – 14 May 2014) was an Irish urologist, emeritus professor of surgery at the University College Dublin School of Medicine & Medical Science and Head of Research at the Irish Cancer Society. His early childhood was spent in Ballsbridge, Dublin, and he was educated at Gonzaga College where he learnt history and literature from Jesuits, following which he entered the University College Dublin to study medicine. In 1975 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. From 1977 to 1981, he worked at the St. Peter's Hospitals and the Institute of Urology in London, where he watched emerging robotic surgery and the then new minimally invasive surgical techniques. The Prague Spring ( cs, Pražské jaro, sk, Pražská jar) was a period of political liberalization and mass protest in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. It began on 5 January 1968, when reformist Alexander Dubček was elected First Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ), and continued until 21 August 1968, when the Soviet Union and most of Warsaw Pact members invaded the country to suppress the reforms. The Prague Spring reforms were a strong attempt by Dubček to grant additional rights to the citizens of Czechoslovakia in an act of partial decentralization of the economy and democratization. Professor Christopher Richard James Woodhouse, 6th Baron Terrington (born 20 September 1946), is a British peer and Emeritus Professor of Adolescent Urology, University College London. Terrington was born in 1946, the elder son of Montague Woodhouse, 5th Baron Terrington, and Lady Davidema Katharine Cynthia Mary Millicent Bulwer-Lytton, a daughter of Victor Bulwer-Lytton, 2nd Earl of Lytton.
