John H. G. Vehslage
John Herman George Vehslage (December 20, 1842 – July 21, 1904) was an American merchant, militia officer and politician from New York. Life Born in New York City, Vehslage attended the public schools. He left school to become a clerk in the retail grocery business. Later he engaged in the coal and wood business. He joined the Third Cavalry, New York National Guard, in 1863 and was commissioned a captain by Gov. Horatio Seymour on February 15, 1864. He was appointed inspector of rifle practice with the rank of captain and continued in service until 1880, when the regiment was mustered out by order of Governor Cornell. He remained as supernumerary until November 12, 1883, when he received an honorable discharge from Gov. Grover Cleveland. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (New York Co., 1st D.) in 1894. Franklin Bartlett
Franklin Bartlett (September 10, 1847 – April 23, 1909) was an American lawyer and politician who served two terms as a U.S. Representative from New York from 1893 to 1897. Biography Bartlett was born in Uxbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts, the son of William Osborne and Agnes Fredericka Herreshoff Willard Bartlett. He graduated from the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, Harvard University, and Columbia Law School. He also attended Exeter College (Oxford University, England). He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. He married Bertha King Post on June 4, 1872, and they had one daughter Bertha King Bartlett. Career Bartlett served as a member of the constitutional commission of the State of New York in 1890. He served as delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1892. Nicholas Muller (November 15, 1836 – December 12, 1917) was an American banker and politician who served four different stints as a United States representative from New York during the late 19th and early 20th century. In all, he served five terms in office. Life Born in Differdange, Luxembourg, he attended the common schools in the city of Metz and afterward the Athénée de Luxembourg. He immigrated to the United States with his parents, who settled in New York City, and was employed as a railroad ticket agent for more than 20 years. He was one of the promoters and original directors of the Germania Bank in New York City. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (New York Co., 1st D.) in 1875 and 1876.
