John Grayson (cricketer)
John Hubert FitzHenry Grayson (17 June 1871 – 31 May 1936) was an English cricketer active in the early 1890s. Born in West Derby, Lancashire (now Liverpool), Grayson was a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler who made two appearances in first-class cricket. Educated at Radley College and playing his club cricket for Birkenhead Park, Grayson made his debut in first-class cricket for Liverpool and District against Yorkshire in 1891 at Aigburth. He played a second first-class match for Liverpool and District in 1893 against the touring Australians. He made a highest score of 36 in first-class cricket, which came against Yorkshire. He died at Eastbourne, Sussex on 31 May 1936. His brother Henry also played first-class cricket. West Derby
West Derby ( ) is an affluent suburb of Liverpool, England. It is located East of the city and is also a Liverpool City Council ward. At the 2011 Census, the population was 14,382. History West Derby Mentioned in the ''Domesday Book'', West Derby achieved significance far earlier than Liverpool itself. The name West Derby comes from an Old Norse word meaning "place of the wild beasts" or "wild deer park" and refers to the deer park (now Croxteth Park) established there by King Edward the Confessor. West Derby became the main administrative area in today's Liverpool for the Norman Conquests and was the largest area within the West Derby Hundred which covered most of south west Lancashire. Birkenhead Park Cricket Club
Birkenhead Park Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Birkenhead Park in the Wirral on Merseyside, England. The club was founded in 1846 and has one of the oldest cricket pavilions in the country. They are currently members of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition. The club runs four senior Saturday teams as well as junior sides at U11, U13, U16 and U21 age groups. Aigburth Cricket Ground, Liverpool
__NOTOC__ Aigburth Cricket Ground in Liverpool, England, is the home of Liverpool Cricket Club. The club was founded in 1807 and is the oldest amateur sports club in Merseyside. The ground hosted its maiden first-class cricket match in 1881, a fixture between Lancashire and Cambridge University. The ground was kept by the former first-class cricketer George Ubsdell for a 12-year period following the end of his first-class career in 1870. Designed by Thomas Harnett Harrison and built in 1880, the pavilion is the oldest remaining at a first-class cricket ground. The first Women's Cricket World Cup was held in England in 1973. Yorkshire County Cricket Club is one of 18 first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Yorkshire. Radley College
Radley College, formally St Peter's College, Radley, is a public school (independent boarding school for boys) near Radley, Oxfordshire, England, which was founded in 1847. The school covers including playing fields, a golf course, a lake, and farmland. Before the counties of England were re-organised, the school was in Berkshire. Radley is one of only three public schools to have retained the boys-only, boarding-only tradition, the others being Harrow and Eton.
