John Benedict Eden, Baron Eden of Winton, (15 September 1925 – 23 May 2020), known as Sir John Eden, 9th Baronet, from 1963 to 1983, was a British Conservative Party politician who served as Member of Parliament for Bournemouth West from 1954 to 1983. Background Eden was the son of Sir Timothy Calvert Eden and Edith Mary Prendergast. He was educated at Eton College and St Paul's School, New Hampshire, in the US. He served as a Lieutenant with the Rifle Brigade, 2nd Gurkha Rifles and the Gilgit Scouts during the Second World War. He was a nephew of Sir Anthony Eden (1897–1977), who served as prime minister from 1955 to 1957, and he succeeded his father Sir Timothy Calvert Eden to his baronetcies in 1963. He was the 9th Baronet of West Auckland and the 7th Baronet of Maryland. Sir John Eden, 2nd Baronet
Sir John Eden, 2nd Baronet (1677–1728) was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1713 to 1727. Eden was the eldest son of Sir Robert Eden, 1st Baronet, of West Auckland and his wife Margaret Lambton, daughter of John Lambton of Durham and was baptized on 11 September 1677. He matriculated at Queen's College, Oxford on 25 February 1695. He married Catherine Shafto, daughter of Mark Shafto of Whitworth, county Durham on 31 January 1715 and was given Windlestone Hall on the occasion. Eden was returned unopposed as Member of Parliament for County Durham in succession to his father at the 1713 general election. He was also Mayor of Hartlepool for the year1714–15. He was returned unopposed again at the 1715 general election. He succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his father on 30 March 1721. Sir John Eden, 4th Baronet
Sir John Eden, 4th Baronet (1740–1812), was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1774 and 1790. Eden was the eldest son of Sir Robert Eden, 3rd Baronet and his wife Mary Davison of Beamish, county Durham, and was born on 16 September 1740. He succeeded his father in the baronetcy on 25 June 1755. He was educated at Eton College from 1755 to 1758 and at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1759. He married firstly Catherine Thompson daughter of John Thompson of Kirby Hall, Yorkshire on 26 June 1764. She died in March 1766.The Annual Peerage of the British Empire

John R. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.) Later rock music disc jockeys, such as Alan Freed and Wolfman Jack, mimicked Richbourg's practice of using speech that simulated African-American street language of the mid-twentieth century. Richbourg's highly stylized approach to on-air presentation of both music and advertising earned him popularity, but it also created identity confusion. John Eden (athlete)
John Desmond Eden (born 27 October 1955) is a leg-amputee athlete and Australian and New Zealand Paralympian. Personal Eden was born in Wellington, New Zealand and given up for adoption by his young parents. Eden attended Matamata High School and left home at the age of 15. He completed Year 12 certificate through night school while working during the day. At this time his main focus was to become an All Blacks rugby player. In 1976, he lost his right leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident. The day before his accident, Eden was advised of his selection in the Junior All Blacks. He continued to play rugby at senior club reserves level but two years later his right knee was seriously damaged and he underwent an amputation above the knee. He met another amputee, Brian Portland who encouraged him to become New Zealand's first amputee Paralympian. This was the start of a 20-year career in competitive Paralympic athletics.
