John Derringer (commentator)
John Derringer (born John Hayes on September 21, 1962) is a former Canadian radio personality. Though he worked in several markets in the 1980s and 90s, he's best known for his long association with CILQ-FM (Q107) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, initially from 1984 to 1993, and again from 2000 until 2022. Derringer lives in nearby Aurora, Ontario, Aurora. He hosted a weekday morning show, ''Derringer In The Morning'', until it was suspended in May 2022. Throughout the early 2000s, Derringer's opinions also appeared in the form of a regular Columnist, column in the ''Toronto Sun''. As of 2016, Derringer has been named "Radio Personality of the Year" by Canadian Music Week 10 times, and has been named "Favourite Toronto Radio Personality" by the ''Sun'', ''Eye Weekly'', ''Now Magazine'' and ''Top Choice Awards''. CFIQ (640 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Richmond Hill, Ontario, and serving Greater Toronto. The station airs a talk format and is known as ''640 Toronto''. It is owned by Corus Entertainment with radio studios and offices in the Corus Quay Building at 25 Dockside Drive in Toronto. CFIQ is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for Canadian AM stations. Patrick Francis Marsden (November 8, 1936 – April 27, 2006) was a Canadian sportscaster and voice of the Canadian Football League play-by-play coverage in the 1970s and 1980s. He also worked as host for the historic 1972 Canada-Soviet Union hockey Summit Series sports telecasts. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1989. Robert Alan "Bob" McCown (born in Columbus, Ohio) is an American-Canadian radio personality. He is best known as the long-time host of the Canadian sports talk show ''Prime Time Sports'' from its inception on October 2, 1989 to June 21, 2019.
