John Caden
John Caden is an Irish independent television producer. He began his media career in RTÉ in the 1970s. In 1985 he won a Jacob's Award for producing ''The Gay Byrne Show''. For most of his time in RTÉ, Caden was a member of the Workers' Party. He, along with his friend Eoghan Harris, strongly supported the operation of Section 31 of the Broadcasting Act 1960, which prevented members of Sinn Féin from being interviewed on RTÉ. In 1987, Caden took charge of the investigation into the "Lambo incident", involving the RTÉ DJ Gerry Ryan. In the 1990s, John Caden left his employment with RTÉ. He is the father-in-law of '' Sunday Independent'' journalist Brendan O'Connor. It was the eleventh presidential election to be held in Ireland, and only the sixth to be contested by more than one candidate. It was held ahead of schedule when incumbent Mary Robinson resigned to assume her new appointment as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Jacob's is a brand name for several lines of biscuits and crackers in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom. The brand name is owned by the Jacob Fruitfield Food Group, part of Valeo Foods, which produces snacks for the Irish market. The brand name is used under licence by United Biscuits, part of Pladis. Brendan O'Connor (born 23 January 1970) is an Irish media personality and comedian. He presents the Current Affairs panel show ''Cutting Edge'' on RTÉ. He presented ''The Saturday Night Show'' on RTE from 2010 to 2015, he is also known for his appearances on page 3'' newspaper. He is also editor of the newspaper's ''Life Magazine''. O'Connor's pop career included a one-hit wonder as Fr Brian & The Fun Loving Cardinals, the comedy song " Who's in the House?", reaching number 3 in the Irish charts.
