John Blennerhassett (1691–1775)
Colonel John Blennerhassett (1691 – 5 May 1775) was an Anglo-Irish politician who represented two constituencies in the Irish House of Commons between 1709 and 1775.Sir Bernard Burke, ''A genealogical and heraldic history of the landed gentry of Ireland'' (1899), 48. Blennerhassett was born in County Kerry, the eldest son of John Blennerhassett and Margaret Crosbie. He served in the Kerry Militia and was a colonel by 1756. Arthur Hyde (politician)
Arthur Mastick Hyde (July 12, 1877October 17, 1947) was an American Republican politician, who served as the 35th governor of Missouri from 1921 to 1925, and as the United States Secretary of Agriculture for President Herbert Hoover from 1929 to 1933. Biography Hyde was born on July 12, 1877, in Princeton, Missouri, the son of Caroline Emity Mastick and Ira B. Hyde. Several of Arthur's family members were involved in politics; his father, Ira B. Hyde, was the U.S. representative from Missouri. His brother, Laurance M. Hyde, would become a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1899. While at the University of Michigan, he joined the Delta Upsilon fraternity. In 1900, he completed his law degree at the University of Iowa. Hyde began practicing law with his father in Princeton. Sir Barry Denny, 1st Baronet (c. 1744 – April 1794) was an Anglo-Irish politician. The Denny family effectively owned the town of Tralee. Denny was the son of Reverend Barry Denny and Jane O'Connor. He served in the Tralee Corps of the Irish Volunteers, becoming a colonel. He later gained the rank of Major in the service of the Kerry Militia. William Petty Fitzmaurice, 1st Marquess of Lansdowne, (2 May 17377 May 1805; known as the Earl of Shelburne between 1761 and 1784, by which title he is generally known to history), was an Irish-born British Whig statesman who was the first home secretary in 1782 and then prime minister from 1782 to 1783 during the final months of the American War of Independence. He succeeded in securing peace with America and this feat remains his most notable legacy. Lord Shelburne was born in Dublin and spent his formative years in Ireland. After attending Oxford University he served in the British Army during the Seven Years' War. Luke Gardiner
Luke Gardiner (c. 1690 – 25 September 1755) was an Irish property developer and politician. In the Irish House of Commons he represented Tralee from 1725 until 1727 and Thomastown from 1727 until his death in 1755. He was appointed to the Irish Privy Council on 2 August 1737. In 1711 he married Anne Stewart, daughter of the Hon. Alexander Stewart and heiress in her issue to the estates of the Viscounts Mountjoy. Their son Charles also served as an MP and Privy Counsellor. During his career Gardiner acquired a wide variety of properties throughout Dublin city. The major continuous part, much of which he purchased from the Moore family in 1714, was a large piece of land to the East of the then established city. This estate corresponds to the modern area bounded by The Royal Canal, Dorset Street, the Western Way, Constitution Hill, Parnell Street, O'Connell Street and the River Liffey.
