John Batdorf
John Batdorf (born March 26, 1952) is an American singer and songwriter from Yellow Springs, Ohio. He is the son of Jack and Nancy Batdorf, and nephew of Earl Batdorf, aka Earl Scott, a Country singer who charted several hits during the mid-1960s. On 14 August 1976 edition of American Top 40, Casey Kasem reported that although Batdorf came from a musical family, he had originally aspired to play professional baseball. However, these dreams were crushed following his being stricken with osteomyelitis (OM), an infection of the bones, at age 11. It was necessary for him to be in a full-body cast for a year, and he was told that he would never be able to play competitive sports again. Out of boredom he picked up a guitar and began to learn, and then the piano, giving him a new set of musical aspirations. Batdorf's musical career began in 1967 after moving to Los Angeles. Michael McLean (composer)
Michael H. McLean (born 1952) is an American songwriter, playwright, author, and filmmaker based in Heber City, Utah. Early life McLean attended high school in the Chicago area, where he served as student body president and performed in the school's production of ''The Music Man''.''Deseret News'', November 13th, 2003 He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and was the only Latter-day Saint in his graduating class. America is a British-American rock band formed in London in 1970 by Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek, and Gerry Beckley, all Americans. The trio met as sons of US Air Force personnel stationed in London, where they began performing live. Achieving significant popularity in the 1970s, the trio was famous for its close vocal harmonies and light acoustic folk rock sound. The band released a string of hit albums and singles, many of which found airplay on pop/soft rock stations. Danny Wayland Seals (February 8, 1948 – March 25, 2009) was an American musician. The younger brother of Seals and Crofts member Jim Seals, he first gained fame as one half of the soft rock duo England Dan & John Ford Coley, who charted nine singles between 1976 and 1980, including the No. 2 Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight". Kim Carnes
Kim Carnes (; born July 20, 1945) is an American singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she began her career as a songwriter in the 1960s, writing for other artists while performing in local clubs and working as a session background singer with the famed Waters sisters (featured in the documentary '' 20 Feet from Stardom''). After she signed her first publishing deal with Jimmy Bowen, she released her debut album ''Rest on Me'' in 1971. Carnes' self-titled second album primarily contained self-penned songs, including her first charting single "You're a Part of Me", which reached No. 35 on the ''Billboard'' Adult Contemporary chart in 1975. ''The Best Two Years'' is a 2003 dramedy film written and directed by Scott S. Anderson. It is based on the stage play ''The Best Two Years of My Life'', also by Anderson. It portrays the experience of four LDS missionaries living in an apartment in the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands. The stage play had one setting, the apartment of the missionaries. The movie does expand upon the play's setting, with some filming taking place in the Netherlands, but much of the movie still takes place in the apartment. ''Promised Land'' is an American drama television series which aired on CBS from September 17, 1996, to May 20, 1999. It is a spin-off from another series, ''Touched by an Angel''. Background Arista executives gave the band the song to record, after concluding that none of the other tracks on the album they produced had single potential. Arista head Clive Davis himself co-produced their single. Silver was an American 1970s country rock band, best known for their 1976 pop hit record, hit "Wham Bam," written by country songwriter Rick Giles. The song peaked in charts in USA, Canada and Australia.
