John A. Pearce
John A. Pearce (born June 6, 1969) is a Utah judge, appointed to the Utah Supreme Court in November, 2015 by Governor Gary Herbert. The Utah Senate later confirmed Pearce in a 21–0 vote in December 2015. He was sworn in on January 29, 2016. Prior to being confirmed to the Utah Supreme Court, Pearce served on the Utah Court of Appeals. He has also served as general counsel in Governor Herbert's office. Pearce was born and raised in Magna, Utah and began his legal career as an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Later, Pearce was a shareholder at Jones Waldo in Salt Lake City. Utah Supreme Court
The Utah Supreme Court is the supreme court of the state of Utah, United States. It has final authority of interpretation of the Utah Constitution. The Utah Supreme Court is composed of five members: a chief justice, an associate chief justice, and three justices. All justices are appointed by the governor of Utah, with confirmation by the Utah Senate. The five justices elect one of their own to serve as chief justice and another to serve as associate chief justice, each for a term of four years. Cyprus High School
Cyprus High School is a public high school located at 8623 West 3000 South in Magna, Utah, United States. Cyprus High opened in 1918, and now has an enrollment of 1650 students. The principal of the school as of 2021 is Rob McDaniel. The school's mascot is the Cyprus Pirate. In 2016, Cyprus added Brockbank Jr. High on the next street to the east as part of their extended campus. Cyprus High belongs to the Granite School District. Cyprus High School dates back to April 1918. The auditorium was added in 1973 and the science building in 1978. Due to the age of the main building, it was completely rebuilt in 1983. The school has 63 classrooms and six relocatable classrooms. Enrollment Cyprus High School serves approximately 2,600 students in grades, 9–12. Gary Herbert
Gary Richard Herbert (born May 7, 1947) is an American politician who served as the 17th Governor of Utah from 2009 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he chaired the National Governors Association during the 2015–2016 cycle. Herbert won a seat on the Utah County Commission in 1990, where he served 14 years. He ran for the Republican nomination for governor in 2004, ultimately becoming fellow Republican candidate Jon Huntsman's running mate in the general election.
