Johannes Nicolai Eckhoff (26 April 1919 – 26 October 2007) was a Norwegian actor. He made his stage debut at Trøndelag Teater in 1939, and has later worked for Centralteatret, Det Nye Teater and Riksteatret. He participated in the film ''Englandsfarere'' in 1946, and in '' Kampen om tungtvannet'' from 1948. Trøndelag Teater
Trøndelag Teater is a large theater in the city of Trondheim, in Trøndelag county, Norway. Trøndelag Teater stages large-scale dance and musical performances. History Originally built in 1816, the theater is the oldest stage in Scandinavia in continuous use. Initially, the theatre was used by the local Amateur Theatre, and after that by travelling Danish theater companies, some of which used it as a permanent theatre such as Johan Conrad Huusher (1829–1831), Carl Wilhelm Orlamundt (1831–1834), Jacob Mayson (1836–1839) and Gustav Wilhelm Selmer (1839–1848). Between 1861 and 1865 it housed the first permanent Norwegian language theatre in the city, the Throndhjems Theater. Between 1865 and 1911, it was again used by travelling theatre companies. Det Nye Teater
Det Nye Teater was a theatre that opened in Oslo in 1929, and ended as an independent theatre in 1959, when it merged with Folketeatret to form Oslo Nye Teater. The theatre's original purpose was to support contemporary Norwegian drama. History The company A/S Det Nye Teater was founded in 1918, by Johan Bojer and Peter Egge. Among the largest financial supporters were ship owner Ivar An Christensen, and also the Norwegian State bought a significant number of shares. The theatre building was designed by the architects Blakstad and Dunker. The theatre's first artistic director was Ingolf Schanche, from 1928 to 1931. ''Operation Swallow: The Battle for Heavy Water'' (original title: ''Kampen om tungtvannet'', French title: ''La Bataille de l'eau lourde'') is a Norwegian-French film from 1948. The history is based on the best known commando raid in Norway during World War II, where the resistance group Norwegian Independent Company 1 destroyed the heavy water plant at Vemork in Telemark in February 1943. The film is basically a reconstruction of real events, a docudrama, with many of the participants playing themselves in the film. It was filmed on location in Norway. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
