Johannes De Peyster III
Johannes de Peyster or Johannes de Peyster III (1694 – February 27, 1789) was the Mayor of Albany, New York three times between 1729 and 1742. Early life De Peyster was born in 1694. He was the son of Johannes De Peyster Jr. and Anna Bancker (1670–1740). His father was the 23rd Mayor of New York City,Allaben, FrankJohn Watts de Peyster, Volume 1 p. 18-19 (1908) and served as a Captain with the 2nd Battalion, Company of Foot, New York. His parents had 12 children, several who died young. Nehemiah Partridge
Nehemiah Partridge (March 9, 1683 – between 1729 and 1737) was an American painter. He is believed to be the same artist as those identified as the Schuyler Limner and the ''Aetatis Suae'' Limner, though this identification has been called into question by some historians. Life and career Partridge was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the son of William Partridge and Mary (Brown) Partridge; his father rose from being a carpenter and merchant to become the colony's lieutenant governor from 1696 to 1703, while, in 1705, his sister married Jonathan Belcher, who himself would later become colonial governor. Partridge is known to have been active in Boston as a japanner from 1712 until 1714, during which time he also sold paints; at this time he lived very close to the decorative painter Thomas Child. Philip Schuyler
Philip John Schuyler (; November 18, 1804) was an American general in the Revolutionary War and a United States Senator from New York. He is usually known as Philip Schuyler, while his son is usually known as Philip J. Schuyler. Born in Albany, Province of New York, into the prosperous Schuyler family, Schuyler fought in the French and Indian War. He won election to the New York General Assembly in 1768 and to the Continental Congress in 1775. He planned the Continental Army's 1775 Invasion of Quebec, but poor health forced him to delegate command of the invasion to Richard Montgomery. He prepared the Continental Army's defense of the 1777 Saratoga campaign, but was replaced by General Horatio Gates as the commander of Continental forces in the theater. Johannes Schuyler
Johannes Schuyler (October 15, 1668 – November 5, 1747) was a prominent American of Dutch ancestry who served as the 10th Mayor of Albany, New York from 1703 to 1706, and later was a member of the provincial assembly. Henry Rutgers
Henry Rutgers (October 7, 1745 – February 17, 1830) was a United States Revolutionary War hero and philanthropist from New York City. Rutgers University was named after him, and he donated a bond which placed the college on sound financial footing. He also gave a bell that is still in use today.
