Johan Henrik Rye Holmboe (28 November 1863 – 29 May 1933) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Free-minded Liberal Party. He was a city council member in Tromsø for 42 years, a three-term member of Parliament, Minister of Provisioning from 1920 to 1921, and Minister of Trade from 1923 to 1924. Personal life He was born in Tromsø as the son of businessman Hans Conrad Holmboe (1828–1923) and his wife Jakobine Henrikke ("Rikka") Harris (1835–1913). He had several brothers and sisters. Even Hammer Holmboe (18 November 1792 – 23 December 1859) was a Norwegian politician. Personal life He was born in Trondenes as the son of bailiff Jens Holmboe (bailiff), Jens Holmboe (1752–1804) and his wife Anna Margrethe Irgens (1766–1851). The Market towns of Nordland, Troms and Finnmark ( no, Kjøpstedene i Nordland, Troms og Finnmark) was an electoral district for parliamentary elections in Norway. It comprised the market towns ( no, kjøpsteder) of Bodø and Narvik in Nordland county, Tromsø in Troms county and Hammerfest, Vadsø and Vardø in Finnmark county. The district was established ahead of the 1921 Norwegian parliamentary election following the change from single member constituencies to plural member constituencies in 1919. Cod liver oil is a dietary supplement derived from liver of cod fish (Gadidae). Thorolf Holmboe (10 May 18668 March 1935) was a Norwegian painter, illustrator and designer. Biography He was born in Vefsn, in Nordland county, Norway as the oldest son of Othar Ervigius Holmboe and his wife Sofie Birgitte Andrea Hall. He had one brother, Othar, who also became a painter. His grandfather was Michael Wide Holmboe, son of bailiff Jens Holmboe (bailiff), Jens Holmboe and brother of politicians Even Hammer Holmboe, Even, Leonhard Christian Borchgrevink Holmboe, Leonhard and Hans Holmboe.
