The Joffrey Tower is a high-rise commercial real estate development on the northeast corner of North State Street and East Randolph Street in the Loop community area of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States that is the permanent home of the Joffrey Ballet. It is located immediately south of the Chicago Theatre and directly across the street from Macy's largest Chicago (and its Macy's Herald Square, second largest overall) department store on State Street, within the Loop Retail Historic District. Its address had once been the site of the Masonic Temple (Chicago), Chicago Masonic Temple. 108 North State Street, also known as Block 37, is a development located in Chicago Loop, the Loop Community areas of Chicago, community area of downtown Chicago, Illinois. It is located on the square block bounded clockwise from the North by West Randolph Street (Chicago), Randolph Street, North State Street (Chicago), State Street, West Washington Street and North Dearborn Street that is known as "Block 37", which was its designated number as one of the original 58 blocks of the city. Above-ground redevelopment is complete, but work stopped on an underground public transit station when the station were only partially complete. The previous buildings on the block were demolished in 1989 for a hotly contested redevelopment plan under the then new Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.
