Joey McCarthy
Joseph McCarthy (born October 7, 1972) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He is a former competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Series (now Xfinity), NASCAR Truck Series, NASCAR Busch East Series (now ARCA East), and the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour (now the Whelen Modified Tour). He is also the 1987 New Jersey state champion in kart racing. Racing career Starting his racing career at age 10, McCarthy made a name for himself in kart racing, winning the 1987 New Jersey State Karting Championship. He moved to stock car competition in 1991, competing at Flemington Speedway, where he won the track's rookie championship. McCarthy made his debut in NASCAR touring series competition in 1994, competing in the Featherlite Modified Tour; he ran two events in the series with a best finish of 24th. Mendham Township, New Jersey
Mendham Township is a township in Morris County, in the central portion of northern New Jersey, United States, located more than due west of New York City. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 5,869, reflecting an increase of 469 (+8.7%) from the 5,400 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 863 (+19.0%) from the 4,537 counted in the 1990 Census. It is part of the New York metropolitan area, as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY- NJ- CT- PA Combined Statistical Area. The township may be named for Mendham, Suffolk, England, or it may derive from the Native American word ''mendom'' (meaning "raspberry") or for an Earl of Mendham. Flemington Speedway
Flemington Speedway was a motor racing circuit in Flemington, New Jersey which operated from 1915 to 2002. The track was once known for being the fastest 5/8 dirt track in the United States. Early history Flemington Speedway was created as a mid-nineteenth century fairgrounds horse track hosting horse racing events during the Hunterdon County 4-H Agricultural Fair starting in 1848. It was a half mile, four-cornered dirt oval. Motorcycles first raced on this horse track in 1911, and the "Speedway" hosted its first automobile race in 1915 as a half mile dirt oval. The first race was promoted and won by Ira Vail. The track's grandstand opened in 1917 and remained standing until the track was demolished in January 2005. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a pickup truck racing series owned and operated by the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, and is the only series in NASCAR to race production pickup truck based stock cars. The series is one of three national divisions of NASCAR, ranking as the third tier behind the second-tier NASCAR Xfinity Series and the top level NASCAR Cup Series. The Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown is a Super Late Model championship event at Irwindale Speedway, originally held from 2006-10 seasons as a non-championship NASCAR event for lower-level series, and since the 2020 motorsport season, revived by the circuit was a Super Late Model event for the SRL Southwest Tour. The original format from 2003-11 seasons were sanctioned by NASCAR. New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a oval speedway located in Loudon, New Hampshire, which has hosted NASCAR racing annually since 1990, as well as the longest-running motorcycle race in North America, the Loudon Classic. Nicknamed "The Magic Mile", the speedway is often converted into a road course, which includes much of the oval. Holland is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 3,401 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from the Holland Land Company, the original title-holder to most of the land of Western New York. Busch North Series
The ARCA Menards Series East (formerly Busch East Series, Busch North Series, Camping World East Series, and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East) is a regional stock car racing series owned and operated by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and the NASCAR, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Races are held at oval tracks ranging from in length and on two road courses, in length. The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) is a stock car racing series organized by NASCAR. It is promoted as NASCAR's second-tier circuit to the organization's top level Cup Series.
