Joey Cape's Bad Loud is an American alternative music project that was started in 2011 by punk rock singer Joey Cape, frontman of California punk bands Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut. The band's debut self-titled album was released on June 9, 2011. History Rumors about Cape working on a new full-band project started in January 2011, when Cape hinted about a possibility of re-recording some songs from his second solo album ''Doesn't Play Well with Others'' in an electric full-band form for a yet unnamed new project, not being Lagwagon or Bad Astronaut. Doesn't Play Well With Others
''Doesn't Play Well with Others'' is the second full-length solo album by Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut frontman Joey Cape, released on June 1, 2011. It was released with one song at a time, each month, during 2010 on Joey Cape's official website, beginning on January 18, 2010. The first track "Going for the Bronze" was released on January 18, 2010, while the last track "I Always Knew This Was Going to End Badly" was released on December 12, 2010. Cape's daughter Violet drew the pictures which are used as the artwork for each of the songs, as well as the full album's artwork. Before the release of the album, Cape has announced that those who will get a paid subscription would get a new song each month as well as receiving a package including a signed limited edition CD and a vinyl of all 12 songs. Acoustic music is music that solely or primarily uses instruments that produce sound through acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means. Bill Stevenson (musician)
John William Stevenson (born September 10, 1963) is an American musician and record producer. He is the drummer, main songwriter, and the only constant member of the California punk rock group Descendents since its inception. In late December 1981, he played a few concerts with the hardcore punk band Black Flag because their drummer ROBO was detained in England after a tour there. He went on to record with Black Flag on several of their albums until 1985, including the highly influential ''My War''. After this he focused his attention on Descendents and played with the band until lead singer Milo Aukerman left in 1987. After Milo's departure, Bill and the other members of Descendents, Karl Alvarez and Stephen Egerton, recruited singer Dave Smalley of Dag Nasty, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and formed All. The Blasting Room is a recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded by members of the punk rock band All in 1994, it is owned and operated by musician Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag, All, Only Crime) and Jason Livermore. The studio is known for recording and producing many punk rock bands, with Stevenson and Livermore serving as in-house audio engineers and record producers. In July 1994, the members of All relocated from Brookfield, Missouri to Fort Collins. ''Bridge'' is the first solo album by Californian punk rock musician Joey Cape, frontman of Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut, released on September 29, 2008, through Suburban Home Records. Unlike Cape's work in his bands, the album is an acoustic music, acoustic alternative rock, alternative/indie rock album, much like his work with Tony Sly on their collaborative album ''Acoustic'' from 2004. In the album's booklet, Cape describes the solo album as a "rite of passage." 5 songs on the album are acoustic renditions of songs previously released on the Lagwagon EP ''I Think My Older Brother Used to Listen to Lagwagon'' which was released in August of the same year. Groezrock
Groezrock was an annual music festival that took place in Meerhout, Belgium. It started as a small rock and pop festival with one stage and a few hundred people attending, but evolved into a large punk rock/hardcore punk festival, with attendances exceeding 30,000. The festival had one stage until 2003, when it added a second stage called Back-to-Basics, which was reserved for more hardcore-oriented bands. Since 2006 the festival has taken place over multiple days, and grew to three stages in 2009 and four stages in 2012. It was announced in October 2017 that the 2018 edition of Groezrock would not be taking place in the Spring, and would instead be an indoor festival in the autumn.
