Joe Wicks (EastEnders)
Joe Wicks is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Paul Nicholls. He appears on screen between 25 March 1996 and 14 November 1997. ''EastEnders'' was praised for the character's portrayal of schizophrenia. Storylines Joe arrives in Albert Square from Bolton in 1996, looking for his father, David Wicks (Michael French), following the death of his sister Karen in a car crash. At first, David rejects his son, and sends him home. However, after Joe runs away again and turns up at David's, he becomes more receptive. Eventually Joe and his mother Lorraine (Jacqueline Leonard) move to London and Joe moves in with David. Karen's death has seriously affected Joe and he blames himself because the day Karen died, they had had an argument over who would sit in the front seat of the car. Paul Nicholls (actor)
Gerard Paul Greenhalgh (born 12 April 1979), known professionally as Paul Nicholls, is an English actor. He is known for his roles as Joe Wicks in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', DS Sam Casey in the ITV drama '' Law & Order: UK'', and Steve Bell in the Channel 4 drama ''Ackley Bridge.'' Career Nicholls made his television debut in 1990 at the age of 10, in ''Children's Ward''. Walford
Walford is a fictional borough of east London in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. It is the primary setting for the soap. ''EastEnders'' is filmed at Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, towards the north-west of London. Much of the location work is filmed in nearby Watford, which was chosen for many of the exterior scenes due to its close proximity and the town's name being so similar to Walford. Thus, any stray road signs or advertising boards which are accidentally filmed in the back of shots will appear to read Walford. Nellie Ellis
Nellie Ellis is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by Elizabeth Kelly. Nellie is introduced as the interfering relative of Pauline Fowler (Wendy Richard) in 1993 and appears regularly until 1998. Bolton
