Joe Pruett
Joe Pruett (January 8, 1966) is an People of the United States, American comic book writer, editor, and publisher. Biography Pruett broke into the industry during the year of 1989 as Bob Burden's assistant on Flaming Carrot Comics, where he inked backgrounds, assisted on lettering, and transcribed scripts. He worked with Burden from issues #23-29. In 1992 Joe joined Gary Reed (comics), Gary Reed's Caliber Comics where he served through 1998 as a writer, an editor, and a creative director. While at Caliber, Joe's anthology title, ''Negative Burn'', was nominated for numerous Harvey Award, Harvey and Eisner Award, Eisner awards. In 1998 he left Caliber to become a freelance writer and became a regular contributor to Marvel Comics, Marvel's X-Men books. In particular he wrote ''Cable (comics), Cable'' during the storylines "Apocalypse: The Twelve" and "Ages of Apocalypse". ''Negative Burn'' is a black-and-white anthology comic book published beginning in 1993 by Caliber Press, and subsequently by Image Comics and Desperado Publishing. Edited by Joe Pruett, ''Negative Burn'' is noted for its eclectic range of genres, mixture of established comics veterans and new talents, and promotion of creative experimentation. Publication history The first volume of ''Negative Burn'' ended with issue #50 in 1997. Revived by Image and Desperado in 2005 with two seasonal specials, ''Negative Burn'' returned to a monthly format in 2006. Newsarama is an American website that publishes news, interviews, and essays about the American comic book industry. It is owned by Future US. In June 2020, Newsarama was merged with the website GamesRadar+, also owned by FutureUS. History Newsarama began in mid-1995 as a series of Internet forum postings on the Prodigy comic book message boards by fan Mike Doran. In the forum postings, Doran shared comic book-related news items he had found across the World Wide Web and, as these postings became more regular and read widely, he gave them the title "Prodigy Comic Book Newswire." In January 1997, Doran began to post a version of the column titled ''The Comics Newswire'' on Usenet's various rec.arts.comics communities. Bernard Chang
Bernard Chang (born 1972) is a Canadian-American artist/designer best known for his work in the comic book industry and entertainment design. Career Born in Montreal, Quebec, Chang started drawing comics professionally in 1992 while attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York (state), New York on a full scholarship for architecture. Within his first year, he was voted onto the ''Wizard (magazine), Wizard'' magazine Top Ten Artists list for his work on ''The Second Life of Dr. Mirage'' for Valiant Comics, and was nominated for the Russ Manning Award for Best Newcomer. Rob Liefeld
Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable (comics), Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''New Mutants, The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force''. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books owned by their creators rather than by publishers. In comics in the United States, a trade paperback (shortened: TPB or trade) is a collection of stories originally published in comic books, reprinted in book format, usually presenting either a complete miniseries, a story arc from a single title, or a series of stories with an arc or common theme. A trade paperback may reproduce the stories either at the same size in which they were originally presented (in comic book format), in a smaller "digest-sized" format, or a larger-than-original hardcover. This article applies to both paperback and hardcover collections. In the comics industry, the term "trade paperback market" may refer to the market for any collection, regardless of its actual cover. Guy Burwell (born 1965) is an illustrator and designer based in Portland, Oregon. He is primarily known for making limited edition rock concert posters.
