Joe O'Dwyer
Joe O'Dwyer is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Killenaule and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2015. He is a cousin of fellow Tipperary hurler John O'Dwyer. Career O'Dwyer was named in the Tipperary squad for the 2015 National Hurling League and made his league debut on 15 February against Dublin starting at right corner back in a 2-20 to 0-14 defeat in Parnell Park. On 21 May 2017, O'Dwyer made his championship debut when he came on as a second half substitute in the 1-26 to 2-27 defeat to Cork in the 2017 Munster Senior Hurling Championship. Killenaule Hurlers
Killenaule () is a small town and civil parish in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is part of the ecclesiastical parish of Killenaule and Moyglass, in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly, and the barony of Slievardagh. It is east of Cashel on the R689 and R691 roads, at the south-western edge of the Slieveardagh Hills. History Killenaule came to national prominence in Ireland due to the discovery of the Derrynaflan Chalice. It was discovered in Derrynaflan Island in 1980 by Michael Webb and his son. They were scanning the area with a metal detector, then a relatively new device on the market. The chalice was part of the Derrynaflan Hoard, consisting of an 8th-century chalice, a strainer or ladle and a paten. Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2017
The 2017 season was Michael Ryan's second year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team. On 28 November 2016, Pádraic Maher was named as the new captain of the Tipperary Senior hurling team for 2017 with Séamus Callanan named as vice-captain. Intersport/Elverys continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA for a third year. Tipperary wore a New Jersey design for the first time on 23 April in the League final against Galway. The new design has Intersport with Elverys underneath with Elverys.ie on the back shoulders. The Tipperary players and management team traveled to Miami in December 2016 for a team holiday where they rang in the new year. 2017 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2017 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 130th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 23 April 2017 and ended on 3 September 2017. The draw for the championship was held on 13 October 2016 and was broadcast live on RTÉ2. Tipperary, the 2016 champions, were defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. Meath fielded a team in the championship for the first time since 2004. On 3 September 2017 Galway won the championship following a 0–26 to 2–17 defeat of Waterford in the All-Ireland final. Parnell Park is a GAA stadium in Donnycarney, Dublin, Ireland with a capacity of 8,500. It is the home of the Dublin GAA hurling, football, camogie and ladies' football teams at all levels of competition. The 2015 National Hurling League was the 84th staging of the National Hurling League. Waterford won their first title since 2007 after a 1-24 to 0-17 win against Cork in the final on 3 May. TG4 and Setanta provided live coverage of the league with highlights shown on RTÉ2 on Sunday nights. Format 34 teams play in the 2015 NHL.
