Joe Henderson (April 24, 1937 – June 30, 2001) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. In a career spanning more than four decades, Henderson played with many of the leading American players of his day and recorded for several prominent labels, including Blue Note, Milestone, and Verve. Biography Early life Born in Lima, Ohio, United States, Henderson was one of fourteen children. He was encouraged by his parents Dennis and Irene (née Farley) and older brother James T. to study music. He dedicated his first album to them "for being so understanding and tolerant" during his formative years. Early musical interests included drums, piano, saxophone and composition. Joe "Mr Piano" Henderson
Joe "Mr Piano" Henderson (2 May 1920 – 4 May 1980) was a British pianist born in Glasgow, Scotland, who was most active during the 1950s. Early life and career Henderson was taught to play the piano by his mother and became a professional at age 15, playing in dance bands. After World War II, he began working for the Peter Maurice publishing company. It was there that he met the singer Petula Clark in 1947. In 1949, Henderson introduced Clark to Alan A. Freeman, who, together with her father Leslie, formed the Polygon record label, for which she recorded her earliest hits. Clark and Henderson later had a romantic relationship, which is said to have broken up because he did not want to be "Mr. Petula Clark". In 1957, George Hamilton IV scored a hit with Henderson and Jack Fishman's composition "Why Don't They Understand", a song they wrote about Henderson's relationship with Clark. Joe Henderson (April 24, 1937 – October 25, 1964) was an American R&B and gospel singer, best known for his 1962 recording of " Snap Your Fingers". Henderson was born in Como, Mississippi, United States, and raised in Gary, Indiana. After working in gospel music, he signed with Todd Records in 1958. In 1962, he recorded "Snap Your Fingers" which became a big hit on both the pop and R&B chart. He charted three other sides within the next two years, "Big Love" odd 1077, 1962 "The Searching Is Over" odd 1079, 1962 and "You Take One Step (I'll Take Two) odd 1096, 1964 In between the latter two, he continued recording without further chart success. He currently writes for '' Marathon & Beyond'' magazine, and since 1982, a weekly column entitled "Joe Henderson's Running Commentary". He has authored and coauthored more than two dozen books about the sport of running and fitness, including the best-selling '' Marathon Training''. Joseph James Henderson (born 2 November 1993) is an English footballer. He is a defender who plays for Southern Football League Division One Central side Daventry Town after being released from Coventry City. Career In March 2012, Henderson joined Conference North side Nuneaton Town on a work experience deal until the end of the season. Henderson made his professional debut as a substitute on 27 April 2012 in a 4–0 Championship loss to Southampton, coming on to replace Jordan Willis after 72 minutes.
