Jochem Fluitsma
Jochem Fluitsma (; born 1 June 1958 in Amsterdam, Netherlands), is a Dutch music producer and musician. With Eric van Tijn, he is also part of the musical writing duo Fluitsma & Van Tijn. He has written songs for The Scene, Guus Meeuwis & Vagant, Loïs Lane, De Kast, Willeke Alberti, the Dolly Dots and Mathilde Santing and Status Quo. He wrote the song "Vrede" with Eric van Tijn for Ruth Jacott, who represented the Netherlands in 1993 Eurovision Song Contest coming 6th overall. Ruth Jacott
Ruth Jacott (born 2 September 1960) is a Surinamese-Dutch singer. Jacott transitioned from musical theatre to popular music in 1993, when she represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993. Her song, "Vrede" (Peace), was one of the favorites to win, and ended up ranking sixth out of 25 at Millstreet. She has since released nine Dutch-language albums, four of which made the Top Ten on the Dutch music charts. ''Idols'' was a television show on the Dutch television network RTL 4, which is part of the Idols series based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in the Netherlands. The show is divided in two sections, the first being the audition round, an open audition where everyone who wants to try is allowed to sing. The first couple of shows usually show the worst and the best contenders in these auditions. Once the best are selected, the theater round starts. Here the singers who survived the auditions have to prove they really have what it takes to become an idol. In a couple of shows these performers are narrowed down to just 10 finalists, with each contestant performing live. In the first 2 seasons there were four judges, but starting with season 3 there are just three. Edsilia Francisca Rombley (born 13 February 1978) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. She began her career in 1995, as a member of the Dutch girl group Dignity. Rombley began her solo career in 1996, after winning the Dutch talent show ''Soundmixshow'', later winning the ''European Soundmix Show'' as well the following year. In 1998, Rombley won '' Nationaal Songfestival 1998'' and represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with the song " Hemel en aarde", placing fourth. She later represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song " On Top of the World", but did not qualify for the final. The Netherlands was represented by Ruth Jacott, with the song "Vrede", at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Millstreet, Ireland on 15 May. The song was chosen at the Dutch national final on 26 March. Before Eurovision Nationaal Songfestival 1993 The final took place on 26 March 1993 at the Discothèque Escape in Amsterdam, hosted by Paul de Leeuw. All eight songs were performed by Jacott, with the winner being decided by juries in the twelve Dutch provinces, who awarded votes as 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
