Joana Fomm
Joana Maria Fomm (born September 14, 1939) is a Brazilian actress. Biography Joana Fomm was born in Belo Horizonte, but her mother died when she was still a baby and she was adopted by her uncles in Rio de Janeiro. Career Joana began her acting career at the Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro in 1961, while still a student at Escola de Arte Dramática Martins Pena. She debuted in film in 1962 in '' O Quinto Poder'' by Alberto Pieralisi. In 1964, she made her first television appearance on TV Rio in the telenovela ''O Desconhecido'', written by Nelson Rodrigues Nelson Falcão Rodrigues (August 23, 1912 – December 21, 1980) was a Brazilian playwright, journalist and novelist. Candango for Best Actress is an award given to movie actresses annually at the Brasilia Film Festival (Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro). Besides the statuette "Candango" winning receive a prize of R$ 15 000. History The first actress to win the award was Fernanda Montenegro in 1965 for her performance in the film ''A Falecida'' Since then, 51 women have received the accolade in the 45 years of the award. Nelson Falcão Rodrigues (August 23, 1912 – December 21, 1980) was a Brazilian playwright, journalist and novelist. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs.
