Joakim Bäckström
Joakim Bäckström (born 16 March 1978) is a Swedish professional golfer. Bäckström was born in Umeå. He turned professional in 1999. Having failed to win a place on the European Tour in 2000, Bäckström spent his early career in Sweden on the Telia Tour, where he won the 2001 Gula Sidorna Grand Open and the 2002 Sunbyholm Open. He also picked up five wins in Denmark during 2003 and 2004. Bäckström finally joined the European Tour in 2005 after coming through the 2004 qualifying school final stage, and won the Aa St Omer Open during his rookie season. However he has struggled to establish himself after that, never finishing inside the top 100 on the Order of Merit, and lost his tour card at the end of 2008. Umeå ( , , , locally ; South Westrobothnian: ;). fi, Uumaja; sju, Ubmeje; sma, Upmeje; se, Ubmi) is a city in northeast Sweden. Øyvind Rojahn
Øyvind Rojahn (born 8 November 1971) is a Norwegian professional golfer. He was national champion twice and played on the European Tour, where his best finish was runner-up at the 1995 Air France Cannes Open. Amateur career Rojahn hails from Sarpsborg, south east of Oslo, and was introduced to golf at the age of six by his father, who was chairman of Borregaard Golf Club. Rojahn became a scratch player by 14, the same year he won the Trophy Topolino in Sanremo, Italy. He also won the Doug Sanders European Junior Championship. He joined the National Team and played for Norway three times in the European Amateur Team Championship with a best finish of 6th in 1989, and three times in the Eisenhower Trophy with a best finish of 8th in 1992 in Vancouver, Canada. The Jacques Léglise Trophy is an annual amateur boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1977, as a one-day match before the Boys Amateur Championship, but since 1996 it has been played as a separate two-day match. The venue generally alternates between Great Britain and Ireland and the continent. From 1958 to 1966 a similar match was played between a combined England and Scotland team and the Continent of Europe. History The event can trace its origins back to 1958.
