Jiří Němec
Jiří Němec (born 15 May 1966 in Pacov) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played for Czechoslovakia and later the Czech Republic. He won a total of 84 international caps for the two teams, scoring one goal, and played at both Euro 96 and Euro 2000. At club level, he spent nine seasons with Schalke 04 in Germany, playing 256 Bundesliga games and scoring six goals. He was an integral part of their defence when they won the UEFA Cup in May 1997. Pacov
Pacov (; german: Patzau) is a town in Pelhřimov District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,600 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. DFB-Pokal
The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The competition was founded in 1935, then called the '' Tschammer-Pokal''. The first titleholders were 1. FC Nürnberg. In 1937, Schalke 04 were the first team to win the double. The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. Czechoslovak Cup
The Czechoslovak Cup () was a football cup competition held in Czechoslovakia. It was officially created in 1960 and folded in 1993 with the split between Czech Republic and Slovakia. The cup was played throughout Czechoslovakia until 1968–69. From 1969–70, the cup was played between the winners of Czech Cup and Slovak Cup. Sparta Prague and Dukla Prague were the most successful clubs winning both 8 times. In total, Czech teams lifted the Cup 20 times, and Slovak teams 13 times. 1992–93 Czechoslovak First League
The 1992–93 season of the Czechoslovak First League was the last in which teams from the Czech Republic and Slovakia competed together. Peter Dubovský was the league's top scorer with 24 goals. The league was succeeded at the end of the season by the Czech First League and the Slovak Super Liga. Overview It was contested by 16 teams, and Sparta Prague won the championship. Czechoslovakia received one of the slots of UN banned Yugoslavia for the UEFA Cup.
