Jim Price (basketball)
James E. Price (born November 27, 1949) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals and was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 1972 NBA draft. Price played seven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1972 to 1979, spending time with the Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Buffalo Braves, Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons. He was an All-Star in 1975. Playing with his older brother Mike Price, Jim Price helped lead his Arsenal Technical High School basketball team to the State Finals in 1966; the Titans finished the season with a 25-4 record. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. Russellville, Kentucky
Russellville is a home rule-class city in Logan County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is the seat of its county. The population was 6,960 at the time of the 2010 census. Finley has claimed the area was first settled by Gasper Butcher, as a frontier settlement of the Transylvania Colony of Virginia, around 1780, but others have questioned this claim. Point (basketball)
Points in basketball are used to keep track of the score in a game. Points can be accumulated by making field goals (two or three points) or free throws (one point). If a player makes a field goal from within the three-point line, the player scores two points. If the player makes a field goal from beyond the three-point line, the player scores three points. The team that has recorded the most points at the end of a game is declared that game's winner. 1973–74 Los Angeles Lakers Season
The 1973–74 NBA season was the Lakers' 26th season in the NBA and 14th season in Los Angeles. Having lost to the New York Knicks in the previous season's NBA Finals, the Lakers would make it to the NBA Playoffs, posting a 47-35 record, only to lose to the Milwaukee Bucks in five games. Following the season, Jerry West retired after 14 seasons with the Lakers. He would later return to the Lakers as the head coach from 1976 to 1979. The season ended with the Boston Celtics winning the NBA Championship, beating the Milwaukee Bucks 4 games to 3 in the NBA Finals. The 1972–73 NBA season was the Lakers' 25th season in the NBA and 13th season in Los Angeles. During the previous season (1971-1972), the Lakers had posted the longest winning streak in NBA history with 33 straight victories. In the 1972 NBA Finals, the Lakers had defeated New York Knicks in five games to win their sixth NBA Championship. IUPUI Jaguars
The IUPUI Jaguars are the 18 intercollegiate teams that represent Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S. They compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. On July 1, 2017, IUPUI left the Summit League to move to the Horizon League in all sports. The Jaguars were formerly known as the IUPUI Metros. History IUPUI first sponsored intercollegiate athletics in 1972, when the men's basketball team began play as the IUPUI Metros. Mike Price (basketball)
Michael Price (born September 11, 1948) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for three seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers. Price played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini and was selected in the first round of the 1970 NBA draft by the New York Knicks. He is the older brother of fellow NBA player Jim Price. In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
