Roblin, Manitoba
Roblin is an unincorporated urban community in the Municipality of Roblin, Manitoba, Canada. It is located approximately northwest of Winnipeg. Prior to 1 January 2015, Roblin was designated as a town. In 2010, the Town of Roblin and the former Rural Municipalities of Hillsburg and Shell River had a total population of 3,284. About 40% of the population is involved in agriculture and other resource-based industries. Services, tourism and the processing of wood and agricultural products largely contribute to the local economy. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. In ice hockey, two opposing teams use ice hockey sticks to control, advance and shoot a closed, vulcanized, rubber disc called a " puck" into the other team's goal. Each goal is worth one point. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is a Junior 'A' ice hockey league operating in the Canadian province of Manitoba and one of nine member leagues of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The MJHL consists of thirteen teams all based within the province of Manitoba, eight of which qualify for each year's playoffs. The playoff champion is awarded the Turnbull Cup, the Junior 'A' championship trophy for the province of Manitoba. The following are the results of the 1976–77 MJHL season for the Canadian Manitoba Junior Hockey League ice hockey team. Champion On April 5, 1977, Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) commissioner Bill Addison suspended the Turnbull Cup Finals between the Dauphin Kings and Kildonan North Stars, awarding it to Dauphin on the basis they won two of the three games completed. League notes As of the 1976-77 season, the West Kildonan name was shorted to the Kildonan North Stars. Jim Misener of the Dauphin Kings became the MJHL career leader in goals, assists, and points, with 205 goals, 208 assists, and 413 points. League suspends Turnbull Cup Finals, awards it to Dauphin. The ''Winnipeg Free Press'' (or WFP; founded as the ''Manitoba Free Press'') is a daily (excluding Sunday) broadsheet newspaper in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
