Jim Jodat
James Steven Jodat (March 3, 1954 – October 21, 2015) was a professional American football player who played running back for seven seasons for the History of the St. Louis Rams, Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks, and the San Diego Chargers. He was a high school player and wrestler for Pio Nono College (Wisconsin), Pio Nono in St. Francis, Wisconsin, and was among the first alumni inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at the school's successor, Saint Thomas More High School (Milwaukee), St. Thomas More High School. He played college football at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, declining more attractive offers because Carthage was closer to his widowed mother's home in Milwaukee. He died from cancer in 2015. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive handoffs from the quarterback to rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and block. Pio Nono College (Wisconsin)
The Catholic Normal School and Pio Nono College, also known as Holy Family Normal School, was a paired institution (sharing the same faculty) in St. Francis, Wisconsin, which also included a high school component, founded in 1870 by Dr. Joseph Salzmann as the first Catholic normal school in the United States. The Normal School specialized in training young men in music education for Catholic boys' schools, while Pio Nono was a business school. School for the deaf St. John's School for the Deaf was founded as part of Pio Nono in 1876 as the Catholic Deaf and Dumb Asylum. In its first year, the 17 students classes were held in the second floor of the Pio Nono gymnasium. A separate building for the school was completed in the summer of 1879 and dedicated in December of that year. From 1889-1895 it operated as the coeducational St. John's Institute for Deaf Mutes.
