Jim Hutmacher
James K. Hutmacher (born September 24, 1953) is an American politician. Born in 1953, Hutmacher worked as a well-drilling contractor. He served on the South Dakota Senate between 1995 and 2002. In December 2001, Hutmacher announced that he would contest the Democratic Party gubernatorial primary to be held in 2002, and won an early endorsement from Bernie Hunhoff. Ron J. Volesky was the second to join the race, followed by James W. Abbott James W. Eleanor Saukerson
Eleanor Geraldine Saukerson (née Beam; March 30, 1922 – October 22, 2005) was an American politician in South Dakota. Born at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska in 1922, she attended Benson High School. She moved to Chamberlain, South Dakota shortly after marrying Wilbur Saukerson in 1945. She served on the local school board and the South Dakota Housing Authority. From 1966 to 1991, she was the Brule County Register of Deeds. Between 1990 and 1994, Saukerson served on the South Dakota Senate The Senate is the upper house of the South Dakota Legislature. Bernie Hunhoff
Bernie P. Hunhoff (born September 5, 1951 in South Dakota) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the South Dakota Senate representing District 18 from 1993 to 1999 and 2015 to 2017. Hunhoff was also a member of the South Dakota House of Representatives for District 18 from 2009 to 2015. He served as the House minority leader during that time. Hunhoff is also a writer and journalist. He wrote for the '' Madison Daily Leader'' and the '' Watertown Public Opinion'' in South Dakota before starting his own weekly paper, the '' Missouri Valley Observer'', in 1978. In 1985 he founded ''South Dakota Magazine'', a bimonthly journal that explores the history, culture and geography of the state. He has also authored and co-authored several books, including ''Uniquely South Dakota'', ''South Dakota Curiosities'' and ''South Dakota's Best Stories''. He married Myrna Mulloy in 1974.
