Jibon Theke Neya
''Jibon Theke Neya'' () is a 1970 Bengali-language Pakistani film directed by Zahir Raihan. The film is a political satire based on the Bengali Language Movement under the rule of Pakistan metaphorically, where an autocratic woman in one family symbolizes the political dictatorship of Ayub Khan in East Pakistan, and stars Shuchanda, Razzak, Rosy Samad and Shawkat Akbar. It is the first political film of Bangladesh. According to Ahmad Ishtiaq, writing in ''The Daily Star'', the film is considered to be Zahur Raihan's best. Zahir Raihan
Mohammad Zahirullah (19 August 1935 – disappeared 30 January 1972), known as Zahir Raihan, was a Bangladeshi novelist, writer and filmmaker. He is most notable for his documentary ''Stop Genocide'' (1971), made during the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was posthumously awarded Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1992 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and education Mohammad Zahirullah was born on 19 August 1935, at Majupur, a village in the Feni Mahakuma under Noakhali district of the Bengal Presidency in British India (now Feni district in Bangladesh). Ekushey Television ( bn, একুশে টেলিভিশন; , in reference to 21 February), also known by its acronym ETV, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel owned by S. Alam Group of Industries. It is headquartered in Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, and is Bangladesh's first privately owned television channel to broadcast news and current affairs programming. ''Rabindra Sangeet'' ( bn, রবীন্দ্র সঙ্গীত; ), also known as Tagore Songs, are songs from the Indian subcontinent written and composed by the Bengali polymath Rabindranath Tagore, winner of the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature, the first Indian and also the first non-European to receive such recognition. Nilufar Yasmin
Nilufar Yasmin (13 February 1948 – 10 March 2003) was a Bangladeshi singer of Nazrul Sangeet, Rajanikanta Geeti, Dwijendra Geeti and Atul Prasdi genre. She was the fourth of five Yasmin sisters of Bangladesh music. Her siblings are Farida Yasmin, Fauzia Yasmin, Nazma Yasmin, and Sabina Yasmin. Ajit Roy
Ajit Roy (29 June 1938 – 4 September 2011) was a Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet singer. During the Liberation War of 1971 he sang inspiring songs called ''Gana Sangeet'' to inspire people to take arms against the Pakistani forces. Sabina Yasmin (born 4 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Bengali cinema. She has won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer a record 14 times. She has recorded more than 1,500 songs for films and over 10,000 songs in total. Baby Zaman
Baby Zaman (28 January 1933 – 26 January 2013) was a Bangladeshi stage, television, film actor and producer. Biography Zaman was born Chowdhury Badruzzaman on January 28, 1933, in Burdwan, the second of eight siblings. His father Choudhury Azfar Hossain was a lawyer by profession, but became terribly ill and was unable to support his family. Zaman moved his family to Dhaka in 1953, and provided for them. He also engaged in charitable works, providing food, shelter and education. Zaman married Rawshan Ara Zaman in 1962. Zaman started acting in the late 1960s in stage shows and TV shows.
