Jet World Order is an album by rapper Curren$y and his Jet Life crew. It was released on November 29, 2011. The bonus track edition of the album includes a guest appearance from Big K.R.I.T. A bonus loud pack edition of the album was released on the same day and features guest appearances from Cory Gunz, Bun B, Dom Kennedy, Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and Terri Walker. Singles The first single from ''Jet World Order'' is "1st Place", produced by Show Off. It was released on November 2, 2011 to iTunes. It features labelmates Curren$y, Trademark Da Skydiver, Young Roddy and Mikey Rocks. The music video for the song was released on December 20. Critical response ''Jet World Order'' scored a 6.7 from Pitchfork Media, a 3/5 from HipHopDX, and a 7/10 from AllHipHop. Jet Life
Jet Life is an American hip hop collective formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, originally consisting of rappers Curren$y, Trademark da Skydiver, and Young Roddy. All members of the Jet Life collective are signed to Jet Life Recordings, which is owned and operated by Curren$y. The collective is also known by the names Jet Life Crew, The JETS, sometimes stylized as The J.E.T.S. or The JET$, and as Jets International. History 2011-present: ''Jet World Order'' and ''Jet World Order 2'' Trademark Da Skydiver and Young Roddy first appeared in collaboration with long-time friend and mentor Curren$y on his album "Pilot Talk." ASAP Rocky
Rakim Athelaston Mayers (born October 3, 1988), known professionally as ASAP Rocky ( ; stylized as A$AP Rocky), is an American rapper, music producer and record executive. Born and raised in Harlem, he embarked on his musical career as a member of the hip hop collective ASAP Mob, from which he adopted his moniker. Jean Carne
Jean Carn, also spelled Jean Carne (born Sarah Jean Perkins; March 15, 1947) is an American jazz and pop singer. In mid career, she added a final ''e'' to her name. Carn is a vocalist credited with a five octave vocal range. Biography Carn was born Sarah Jean Perkins in Columbus, Georgia. At the age of four, she became a member of her church choir. Carn planned on furthering her studies at Juilliard School of Music in New York City when she met and married jazz pianist Doug Carn (the couple later divorced) and became a featured vocalist in his jazz fusion band. The couple based themselves in Los Angeles, California, where Carn did four early albums with her husband, ''Infant Eyes'', ''Spirit of the New Land'', ''Revelation'' and ''Adam's Apple'' on Black Jazz/Ovation. David Anthony Willis, known professionally as Ski Beatz, is an American record producer from Greensboro, North Carolina, mainly working in hip hop. Biography Discovered by DJ Clark Kent, Ski was originally known as "MC Will-Ski" in the late 1980s. Richard Jones (born May 13, 1976), better known by his stage names Fiend or International Jones, is an American rapper and producer best known for his time spent with Master P's No Limit Records. Sean Pompey (born February 8, 1984), better known by his stage name Smoke DZA, is an American rapper and songwriter. Roderick Brisco (born September 20, 1986), better known by his stage name Young Roddy (or simply Roddy), is an American hip hop recording artist signed to Jet Life Recordings and iHipHop Distribution. Early life Young Roddy was born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana, New Orleans Metropolitan Area in Jefferson Parish. Growing up, Roddy was an avid basketball player and aspired to play professionally. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Roddy's mother, with whom he lived at the time, moved to Texas. AllHipHop is a hip hop news website founded by Greg Watkins and Chuck Creekmur in 1998. History The website was founded in 1998 by Greg Watkins and Chuck Creekmur. In 1997, Watkins registered the allhiphop.com domain to promote the artists on Oblique Recordings, a small record label he operated. The website provided music downloads to promote the label's artists. After reaching 30,000 downloads a month, Watkins struck deals with eMusic and other retailers to sell downloads.
