Jesús Rueda (composer)
Jesús Rueda Azcuaga (born in Madrid, 30 May 1961) is a Spanish composer. He won the 2004 National Prize for ''the global quality of his music, with special recognition to his recently premiered symphonic and chamber compositions'', such as his Symphony No. 2 and his String Quartet No. 3. His Symphony No. 3, ''Viaje imaginario'' (dedicated to his teacher Francisco Guerrero following his death) and a selection of his piano music, including his two sonatas, were subsequently published by Naxos Records played by the Indonesian composer and pianist Ananda Sukarlan. Through his career he has evolved from experimental music to a more mainstream style. Francisco Guerrero Marín (July 7, 1951 – October 19, 1997) was a Spanish composer. He was born in Linares and died in Madrid. During his lifetime, he completed several compositions, among which there are five major works for orchestra: Antar Atman (1980), Ariadna (1984), Sahara (1991), Oleada (1993) and Coma Berenices (1997). Ananda Sukarlan-Gomez (born in Jakarta, 10 June 1968) is an Indonesian- Spanish classical composer and pianist. Background He is the son of Sukarlan and Poppy Kumudastuti. He started his music lessons at the age of 5 from his older sister, Martani Widjajanti. After graduating from Kolese Kanisius (Canisius College, Jakarta) in 1986, he then went to Europe when he was 17, graduated with ''summa cum laude'' in 1993 from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague under the guidance of Naum Grubert and was a prize winner of many international competitions, such as the Nadia Boulanger Award of Orleans. The Cadaqués Orchestra (''Orquesta de Cadaqués'' panish ''Orquestra de Cadaqués'' atalan is a chamber orchestra based in Cadaqués, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1988 to be the resident orchestra of the Cadaqués Festival, the orchestra has since become an established orchestra with a regular concert season.
