Jerry Barbaso
Jerry Sardua Barbaso (born 18 April 1988) is a Filipino footballer who plays as a defender for Philippines Football League club Maharlika Manila and the Philippines national team. Early life Barbaso was born into an ethnic Cebuano family in Dipolog. Barbaso's father died when he was four. His father's name was Jerry Sr. and his older brother's name is Jerry Jr. He started playing football at the age of 13. Barbaso graduated from DMC-College Foundation with a degree in managerial accounting in 2009, the same year that he started playing professionally. Club career Barbaso first professionally played in the United Football League with Laos. He then played for Global Cebu in the Philippines Football League until 2018, when he moved to Ceres–Negros. Dipolog
Dipolog, officially the City of Dipolog ( ceb, Dakbayan sa Dipolog; Subanen: ''Gembagel G'benwa Dipuleg/Bagbenwa Dipuleg''; Chavacano: ''Ciudad de Dipolog''; fil, Lungsod ng Dipolog), is a 3rd class component city and capital of the province of Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. 2012 Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy
The 2012 Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy was the fourth edition of the invitational tournament hosted by Brunei. The tournament took place in Brunei between 25 February and 5 March 2012. The competition is for players under the age of 22 and is being held only for the fourth time after 2002, 2005 and 2007. The tournament was not held in 2009 following the suspension imposed on the Brunei Amateur Football Association (BAFA) by FIFA. The organisers of the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 have offered US$15,500 as reward for the champions. Originally, all ASEAN teams were supposed to participate at Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 (HBT 2012). However, Thailand eventually withdrew before any match were played. 2020 Philippines Football League
The 2020 Philippines Football League, also known as The Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways, due to the league's title sponsorship, was the fourth season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. For the first time, the champion of the tournament qualified for the Group Stage of the 2021 AFC Champions League, which was expanded to 40 teams from previous 32. Originally scheduled to start on March 21, 2020, the league was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league was supposed to commence on October 25, 2020, under a shortened calendar with each club playing a total of only five matches. However the opener was postponed once again to October 28 due to five players and a coach testing positive for COVID-19, as well as due to anticipated inclement weather by Typhoon Molave (Quinta). The 2019 Philippines Football League was the third season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. Ceres–Negros are the defending champions. This marks the revival of the Philippines Football League as the league folded after the 2018 season to give way for the Philippine Premier League, intended as a successor league to the PFL, which proved to be short-lived. The 2019 season started on May 25, 2019, and ended on October 19, 2019. Ceres–Negros won their second title on October 12, 2019 by winning over Green Archers United 3–1 with two matches to spare. On October 19, 2019, Ceres beat rivals Kaya–Iloilo 3–0 to complete the first 3-peat in PFL History and by doing so got their 22nd PFL victory, leading them to the first invincibles this season. The 2018 Philippines Football League was the second season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The season started on 3 March and concluded on 25 August. The league was contested by six teams from last season's eight, after Meralco Manila and Ilocos United withdrew before the season began. Ceres–Negros won their second consecutive league title on 25 July with three matches to spare. Due to several issues with the league—such as the expensive home-and-away format as well as the lack of sponsors and TV coverage—the PFL was abolished after the 2018 season and was replaced by the Philippine Premier League. The 2017 Philippines Football League was the inaugural season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The league was officially launched on 21 April 2017 at Shangri-La at the Fort in Taguig, while the first match of the season was played on 6 May. The PFL replaced the Metro Manila-based United Football League (UFL), which served as the country's ''de facto'' top-level football league from 2009 to 2016. The league was made up of 8 clubs: 6 from the UFL (Ceres, Global, JP Voltes, Kaya, Loyola Meralco Sparks, and Stallion) and 2 expansion teams (Davao Aguilas and Ilocos United). Each club played the others four times (a home-and-away quadruple round-robin format), twice at their home ground and twice at that of their opponents', for 28 games. The 2013 Philippine Peace Cup was the second edition of the tournament, an international football competition organized by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) to celebrate peace month in the country through football. This edition involved the national teams of the Philippines and only two invitees instead of three. It was held in Bacolod, Negros Occidental from October 11–15, 2013. Participants New Caledonia, Kyrgyzstan and an unspecified team from the 2012 Philippine Peace Cup were initially mooted as participants.
