Jerome Johnson (American Football)
Jerome Johnson (born January 19, 1985) is a former American football fullback. He was signed by the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at Oregon. Johnson was also a member of the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals. Early years Johnson was a graduate of Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California, and was a two-time All-City selection. 2001 City Champion. College career Johnson played for one year at West Los Angeles Community College. In 2006, he played in 12 games with no starts on defense as a linebacker and on special teams, recording one tackle at the University of Nevada. In 2007, he played in all 13 games with eight starts at inside linebacker and was fifth on the team with 58 tackles, 6 pass breakups 6.5 tackles for loss and recovered two fumbles and forced one. Fullback (American Football)
A fullback (FB) is a position in the offensive backfield in gridiron football, and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks and in most offensive schemes the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back. Many great runners in the history of American football have been fullbacks, including Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Bronko Nagurski, Jim Taylor, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Christian Okoye, and Levi Jackson. However, many of these runners would retroactively be labeled as halfbacks, due to their position as the primary ball carrier; they were primarily listed as fullbacks due to their size and did not often perform the run-blocking duties expected of modern fullbacks. The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston.
