Jericó Abramo Masso
Jericó Abramo Masso (first name also spelled Yericó; born 17 October 1975) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He currently represents the Seventh Federal Electoral District of Coahuila in the Chamber of Deputies of the LXIII Legislature of the Mexican Congress. Life Abramo received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the in Saltillo in 1997; during the three years he studied for the degree, he was the sales manager at Inmobiliaria Iconosa S.A. de C.V. and head of sales at Inmobiliaria y Constructora del Noreste, S.A. de C.V. From 1995 to 2004, he owned Pecos Steak House, directing it from 1996 to 1998. The late 1990s saw Abramo's entry into the PRI. He was the deputy chief of financing for the state party and founded the Business Political Institute at the same time between 1998 and 1999. Saltillo
Saltillo () is the capital and largest city of the northeastern Mexican state of Coahuila and is also the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name. Mexico City, Monterrey, and Saltillo are all connected by a major railroad and highway. San Juan de Sabinas is one of the 38 municipalities of Coahuila, in north-eastern Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Nueva Rosita. The municipality covers an area of 735.4 km². Pasta De Conchos Mine Disaster
The Pasta de Conchos mine disaster occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. CST on February 19, 2006, after a methane explosion within a coal mine near Nueva Rosita, San Juan de Sabinas municipality, in the Mexican state of Coahuila. The mines were run by Grupo México, the largest mining company in the country. It was estimated that 65 miners, who were working the 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift that morning, were trapped underground by the explosion. Only 2 of the 65 bodies have been recovered. Background There have been conflicting reports regarding the depth at which the miners were trapped. The National Mining and Metal Workers Union (SNTMMSRM) stated that the trapped miners were approximately below ground, via a mile-long horizontal shaft.
