Jeremy Thompson (lacrosse)
Jeremy Thompson (born January 3, 1987 (age 36)) is an Iroquois professional lacrosse player for the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League, and the Atlas of Premier Lacrosse League. He was a two time Junior College Lacrosse National Champion and was 2nd team All-American at Syracuse University. Jeremy is also a member of the Iroquois men's national lacrosse team with his brothers. Early life Jeremy grew up in the Onondaga Nation, NY, and was one of five children of Doloris and Jerome Thompson. Jeremy and his brothers, Jerome (Hiana), Miles, and Lyle, began playing lacrosse at a very young age due to the spiritual and cultural significance lacrosse has in the Native American community. Onondaga Nation Of New York
The Onondaga people (Onondaga: , ''Hill Place people'') are one of the original five constituent nations of the Iroquois (''Haudenosaunee'') Confederacy in northeast North America. Their traditional homeland is in and around present-day Onondaga County, New York, south of Lake Ontario. They are known as ''Gana’dagwëni:io’geh'' to the other Iroquois tribes. Being centrally located, they are considered the "Keepers of the Fire" (''’'' in Tuscarora) in the figurative longhouse that shelters the Five Nations. Albany FireWolves
The Albany FireWolves are a professional box lacrosse team based in Albany, New York. They are members of the East Division of the National Lacrosse League that began play in the 2021-22 season at the MVP Arena. The team is owned by a group headed by former NLL player Oliver Marti. The team relocated from Uncasville, Connecticut, where they were known as the New England Black Wolves. The Black Wolves themselves were a relocation of the Philadelphia Wings. This is also the second National Lacrosse League franchise in Albany after the Albany Attack, who played from 2000-2003 before relocating to San Jose where they were known as the San Jose Stealth. 2023 NLL Season
The 2023 National Lacrosse League season, formally known as the 2022–2023 season, is the 36th in the history of the NLL. The season begins on December 2, 2022, and ends with the NLL final in late spring of 2023. This is the inaugural season for the expansion team Las Vegas Desert Dogs. The preseason went from November 5 through November 26, 2022. It included games at Aʼnowaraʼko꞉wa Arena and Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. The regular season will go from December 2, 2022 through April 20, 2023. This will have the most number of regular season games in NLL history with 135. Edmonton Rush
The Edmonton Rush were a professional lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) that played from 2006 NLL season to 2015. The team announced on July 20, 2015, that they would be relocating to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for the 2016 season. The Saskatchewan Rush play in the SaskTel Centre. Onondaga Community College (OCC) is a public community college that serves Onondaga County, New York, at two campuses. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
