Jeremy Fischer (politician)
Jeremy R. Fischer (born January 28, 1980) is an American lawyer and politician from Maine. Education He graduated summa cum laude with a BA in political science from the University of Michigan and summa cum laude with a JD from the University of Maine School of Law. Political career From 2000 to 2001 he interned in the congressional offices of United States Senator Susan Collins and Congressman John Baldacci. In 2002 he was a delegate to the Maine State Democratic Convention. From 2002 to 2004 he served as Vice Chairman of the Aroostook County Democratic Party. From 2003 to 2004 he served as Director of the Minded Democrats Political Action Committee and Director of the Northern Maine Empowerment Council. He was also a member of the state's Democratic Committee. Maine House Of Representatives
The Maine House of Representatives is the lower house of the Maine Legislature. The House consists of 151 voting members and three nonvoting members. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting. The nonvoting members represent three of Maine's Native American tribes, though two tribes have declined to send representatives. Each voting member of the House represents around 9,000 citizens of the state. Because it is a part-time position, members of the Maine House of Representatives usually have outside employment as well. Members are limited to four consecutive terms of two years each, but may run again after two years. The House meets at the Maine State House in Augusta. The Maine Public Broadcasting Network (abbreviated MPBN and branded as Maine Public) is a state network of public television and radio stations located in the U.S. state of Maine. It is operated by the Maine Public Broadcasting Corporation, which holds the licenses for all the PBS and NPR stations licensed in the state. The Maine Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Maine. It is a bicameral body composed of the lower house Maine House of Representatives and the upper house Maine Senate.
