Jenny Toomey
Jennifer "Jenny" Gillen Toomey (born 1968) is an American indie rock musician and arts activist. Career Toomey was a member of the bands Geek, Tsunami, Liquorice, Grenadine, So Low and Choke, among others, and has also recorded under her own name. In 1990, Toomey co-founded the Simple Machines record label with a housemate who left the project soon after. Toomey ran the label with Kristin Thomson from 1990 to 1998 out of their house in Arlington, Virginia. Along with TeenBeat Records and Dischord Records, Simple Machines helped document the D.C. punk and indie rock scenes. Tsunami was also greatly influential in the do it yourself (D.I.Y.) movement among the punk, grunge and indie communities. Brackets
A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Retsin
Retsin was an American indie rock band founded by Tara Jane O'Neil and Cynthia Nelson. History Retsin was founded in 1993 by O'Neil, who had played with Rodan, and Nelson, a member of Ruby Falls.Strong, Martin C. (2003) ''The Great Indie Discography'', Canongate, , p. 941-2 The two continued to work with other groups (Nelson with Ruby Falls, O'Neil in the group The Sonora Pine) while they collaborated as Retsin, and their relationship became romantic as well as musical. Their debut appeared in 1995, after they had appeared in the film '' Half-Cocked''; the pair toured extensively behind the album, sometimes adding a rhythm section in live shows.
