Jenny Ferguson
Jenny Ferguson is a retired New Zealand netball player. Ferguson played domestic netball with the Otago Rebels from 2000 to 2002 and the Southern Sting from 2003 to 2007, captaining the side in 2007. She is also a former New Zealand A captain. Ferguson announced her retirement from all aspects of netball after the Sting won the 2007 National Bank Cup against the Northern Force. This was the last season of the National Bank Cup, which was replaced by a new trans-Tasman netball league called the ANZ Championship. Ferguson linked up with the new Southern ANZ Championship franchise, the Southern Steel, as a physiotherapist. Otago Rebels
The Otago Rebels was a New Zealand netball team which represented Otago in the National Bank Cup. Otago Rebels were the first team to win the inaugural (what was then known as) Coca-Cola Cup. In 2008, the Rebels were merged with Southern Sting to compete as the Southern Steel in the trans-tasman ANZ Championship. Sheryl Scanlan
Sheryl Scanlan (née Clarke; born 8 September 1977) is a New Zealand and Samoan international netball player. She played for the Northern Force in the National Bank Cup from 1998 until the conclusion in 2007, when the new ANZ Championship competition was announced, signing with the Northern Mystics for 2008. In 2009 though she has changed sides, joining the Southern Steel. She has 72 international caps for the Silver Ferns currently from 2000–2009, and also played for Samoa from 1996–1999. ''The Southland Times'' is the regional daily paper for Southland, including Invercargill, and neighbouring parts of Otago, in New Zealand. It is now owned by media business Stuff Ltd, formerly the New Zealand division of Fairfax Media. History ''The Southland Times'' was first established in 1862. The first edition was published on 12 November 1862 under the title of ''Invercargill Times''. The three founders were Gerard George Fitzgerald, John T. Downes, and Charles Reynolds. Team Northumbria (netball)
Team Northumbria is an English netball team based at Northumbria University. Between 2001 and 2005 they played in the Super Cup as Northern Flames. They also played as Team Northumbria Flames. Between 2005–06 and 2018, their senior team played in the Netball Superleague. The netball team is one of several sports teams based at Northumbria University that use the Team Northumbria brand name. Others include an association football team and a basketball team. In 2018 Northumbria University announced it was withdrawing seven of its national league sports teams due to cuts to its elite sport programme. Southern Sting
The Southern Sting were a netball team based in Invercargill, New Zealand that competed in the National Bank Cup competition, formerly known as the Coca-Cola Cup. The Southern Sting team won the National Bank Cup seven times and are the only team to have competed in all 10 of the finals of the competition. In 2008, the Sting were merged with Otago Rebels to compete as the Southern Steel in the trans-tasman ANZ Championship. The new Southern Steel are still based in Invercargill and play the majority of their matches on the Sting's home court, Stadium Southland. Megan Hutton
Megan Hutton (born 26 March 1976 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a New Zealand retired netball player. Hutton normally plays in the goal keeper position. She also played basketball for Southland. Hutton debuted in the Coca-Cola Cup (later the National Bank Cup) in 1999 with the Canterbury Flames, joining Silver Ferns defenders Vilimaina Davu and Anna Veronese. After two years with the Canterbury franchise, Hutton transferred to the Southland-based Southern Sting. In 2004, Hutton moved north to play with the Capital Shakers, but after one year with the Wellington-based side, Hutton made a controversial return to the Sting, where she remained for the rest of the National Bank Cup.
