Jenna Hastings
Jenna Hastings (born 10 May 2004) is a New Zealand mountain biker competing in downhill and enduro. She is the current junior women's downhill world champion. Hastings is from Rotorua where she attended John Paul College. At the secondary school’s mountain bike championships in October 2020 in Wellington, she won in both the enduro and downhill. Aged 15, she won the open-age 2019/2020 Giant 2W Gravity Enduro series with two wins and one second place. At the February 2021 DH National Championships held at the Christchurch Adventure Park, she secured the national title in the woman's junior (U19) category, with a time beaten only by the open woman's champion. In November 2021, she won the UCI-sanctioned and open-age Crankworx Rotorua downhill competition. Downhill Mountain Biking
Downhill mountain biking (DH) is a style of mountain biking practiced on steep, rough terrain that often features jumps, drops, rock gardens and other obstacles. Jumps can be up to and including , and drops can be greater than . The rider commonly travels to the point of descent a ski lift or automobile, since the weight of the downhill mountain bike often precludes any serious climbing. In this context, the use of a motorized vehicle or device does not make DH a motorized sport. Riders must possess a unique combination of total body strength, aerobic and anaerobic fitness, and the acceptance of a relatively high risk of incurring serious permanent injuries. 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is a series of races in Olympic Cross-Country (XCO), Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE), and Downhill (DHI). Each discipline has an Elite Men and an Elite Women category. There are also under-23 categories in the XCO and junior categories in the DHI. Snowshoe is an unincorporated community in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, United States, centering on the Snowshoe Mountain ski resort. It is situated in the Allegheny Mountains at a bowl shaped convergence of two high mountain ridges — Cheat and Back Allegheny Mountains — at the head of the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River. Vallnord () is a ski/snowboard resort in the Pyrenees mountains in the country of Andorra, close to the border with Spain at Tor, Pallars. Lenzerheide ( Romansh: ''Lai'') is a mountain resort in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn.
