Jen Gates
Jennifer Gates (born April 22, 1990) is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. Gates is a two-time Canadian university champion and a two-time Northern Ontario provincial champion. Career Bantam and junior curling During her bantam and junior curling years, Gates played on Team Lilly (formerly Team Maloney) out of the Idylwylde Curling Club in Sudbury, Ontario. The team represented Northern Ontario at the 2004 Ontario Winter Games in London, Ontario. The team also represented Northern Ontario at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2011, where Gates played second. The team's best finish was in 2010 in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, where they finished the round robin with a 9–3 record and went on to take a bronze medal. Greater Sudbury

Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The Canadian Junior Curling Championships is an annual curling tournament held to determine the best junior-level curling team in Canada. Junior level curlers must be under the age of 21 as of June 30 in the year prior to the tournament. The event began in 1950 as the National Schoolboys Championship, and all members of a team had to attend the same high school. Efforts to establish the event were led by Ken Watson, Maurice Smith and others. From 1950 to 1957, teams played for the Victor Sifton Trophy. Sifton's newspaper chain was the sponsor of the event during this time. From 1958 to 1975 the event was sponsored by Pepsi and was known as the Pepsi Schoolboys, becoming the Pepsi Juniors in 1976. At that time, the age limit of the event was adjusted to match the eligibility for the World Junior Curling Championships which began in 1975. 2012 Karuizawa International Curling Championship
The 2012 Karuizawa International Curling Championship was held from January 25 to 29 at the SCAP Karuizawa Arena in Karuizawa, Japan. The bonspiel featured eight teams from each gender (five foreign teams and three Japanese teams) that played in a round-robin format. The top four teams of each gender played in a single-elimination playoff round to determine the winners. 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships
The 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships were held from March 14 to 18 at the Welland Curling Club in Welland, Ontario. The host university of the event was Brock University, located in nearby St. Catharines. The winners of the event, the teams from the University of Alberta and from Wilfrid Laurier University skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Laura Crocker, respectively, will go on to represent Canada at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy. Eight teams of each gender competed at the championships, including two from Western Canada, two from Atlantic Canada, and three from Ontario, including the hosts, Brock University. Quebec held one spot each in the men's and women's championships, but chose not to use their entries, so the spots were filled by a team from Western Canada on the men's side and a team from Ontario on the women's side. 2009 CIS/CCA Curling Championships
The 2009 edition of the CIS nationals was held in Montreal, Quebec. The event was played March 25–29, 2009 at the Royal Montreal Curling Club and Montreal West Curling Club. 12 men's and women's team were expected to participate; One representative from each province plus 2 teams from Ontario. The Universiades are only held every 2 years, so this year's winners represented Canada at the 2010 Karuizawa Invitational in Japan. Sorel-Tracy
Sorel-Tracy (; ) is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada and the geographical end point of the Champlain Valley. It is located at the confluence of the Richelieu River and the St. Lawrence River, on the western edge of Lac Saint-Pierre, downstream and northeast of Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 34,600. Its mayor is Patrick Péloquin and it is the seat of the Pierre-De Saurel Regional County Municipality and the judicial district of Richelieu.
