Jeffrey S. Williams is a writer and member of the Minnesota Civil War Commemoration Task Force that was authorized by Governor Mark Dayton in April 2011. Williams, a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, is also the 2009 recipient of the U.S. Air Force Reserve Command's Print Journalist of the Year Award. From 2002–2004, he served in Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq, and left the U.S. Air Force Reserve in May 2012. He also serves as the International Editor for Sportspage Magazine and covers the National Lacrosse League's Minnesota Swarm and the Women's National Basketball Association's Minnesota Lynx on his regular assignment beats. He founded Antietam Creek Entertainment and Antietam Creek Press in September 2012. Mark Brandt Dayton (born January 26, 1947) is an American politician who served as the 40th governor of Minnesota from 2011 to 2019. He was a United States Senator for Minnesota from 2001 to 2007, and the Minnesota State Auditor from 1991 to 1995. He is a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), which affiliates with the national Democratic Party. A native of Minnesota, Dayton is the great-grandson of businessman George Dayton, the founder of Dayton's, a department store that later became the Target Corporation. He embarked on a career in teaching and social work in New York City and Boston after graduating from Yale University in 1969. During the 1970s, he served as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Walter Mondale and Minnesota Governor Rudy Perpich.
