Jeffrey J Hopp
Jeffrey John Hopp is an Australian businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was the founder and chairman from 1974 to 1988 of Jesus People Welfare Services Inc, Perth, Western Australia, now known as Perth City Mission. Early life Hopp was born in Brisbane, Queensland, to Mervyn and Marjorie Jeffries. Hopp was educated in the Catholic school system in St Joachim's Primary School, Holland Park and Cavendish Road State High School. He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force in 1964 and settled in Perth Western Australia in 1968. Career After leaving home to join the Royal Australian Air Force, Hopp received a discharge of 'Services No Longer Required' to pursue a career as a musician and drummer in pop band, Richard and the Lionhearts in the Riverina district. Barry McGuire
Barry McGuire (born October 15, 1935) is an American singer-songwriter primarily known for his 1965 hit " Eve of Destruction". Later he would pioneer as a singer and songwriter of Contemporary Christian music. Early life McGuire was born in Oklahoma City and his family moved to California when he was two years old. After working as a commercial fisherman, and then going on to become a journeyman pipe fitter, McGuire got a job singing in a bar. In 1961, he released his first single called "The Tree", which was not a hit. He formed a duo with Barry Kane (d. 2013) called Barry & Barry. They performed original folk songs at The Ice House, a small folk club in Pasadena, California before moving on to The Troubadour in Hollywood in the spring of 1962. Noel Paul Stookey (born December 30, 1937) is an American singer-songwriter who was famous for being in the 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary; however, he has been known by his first name, Noel, throughout his life. The National Australia Day Council (NADC) is a non-profit social enterprise owned by the Australian Government and is the national coordinating body for the Australian of the Year awards and Australia Day. It was established in 1979 and incorporated as a government-owned business in 1990. Australian Natives' Association was one of the chief promoters of Australia Day as a national holiday, and in 1946 formed an Australia Day Celebrations Committee in Melbourne to formalise its efforts.
