The model of a car is its design, in the context of the manufacturer's range or series of cars. Jeep
Jeep is an American automobile marque, now owned by multi-national corporation Stellantis. Jeep has been part of Chrysler since 1987, when Chrysler acquired the Jeep brand, along with remaining assets, from its previous owner American Motors Corporation (AMC). Jeep's current product range consists solely of sport utility vehicles – both crossovers and fully off-road worthy SUVs and models, including one pickup truck. Jeep Commander (XK)
The Jeep Commander XK and XH (for diesel-powered export version) is a mid-size SUV that was manufactured from 2005 to 2010 by the Jeep division of the American manufacturer Chrysler. Concept car Jeep exhibited a concept car named Commander during the 1999 auto show circuit. The concept featured an experimental direct methanol fuel cell that produced electricity to charge a nickel–metal hydride battery pack. Full-time four-wheel drive was by a severe duty electric motor on each axle. The suspension could be raised for traversing off-road purposes. The overall styling influenced the development of the third-generation Grand Cherokee that was at that time six years away. The concept car had the same height as production Grand Cherokees, but was about wider. The Jeep Commander, also known as the Jeep Meridian in India, is a mid-size crossover SUV produced by Jeep since 2021. Based on the second-generation Compass, the vehicle is lengthened to accommodate three-row seating. It is mainly offered in emerging markets such as Latin America and India. The vehicle was introduced in Brazil in August 2021 and in India in April 2022. The Commander/Meridian is positioned above the Compass. Overview Debuted on 27 August 2021 in Brazil, the Commander is built on the Small Wide global platform shared with the Compass. The Jeep Grand Commander (project code: ''K8'') is a mid-size crossover SUV with three-row seating manufactured by Jeep through the GAC-Stellantis, GAC Fiat Chrysler joint venture in China from 2018 to 2022. Overview Previewed by the Yuntu Concept, the Grand Commander debuted in April 2018 at the Beijing Auto Show and was launched on the Chinese car market in May 2018. Manufactured by the GAC Fiat joint venture, the Grand Commander is positioned above the locally made Jeep Cherokee (KL), KL Cherokee compact CUV. A 5-seater version is also available as the Commander. The Grand Commander debuts with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine producing and of torque. Jeep Commando
The Jeepster Commando is an automobile which was first produced by Kaiser Jeep in 1966 to compete with the International Scout, Toyota Land Cruiser and Ford Bronco. Four different models were available: a pickup truck, convertible, roadster and wagon. The Jeepster remained in production after American Motors Corporation (AMC) bought the Jeep line from Kaiser in 1970. After AMC's acquisition, the Jeepster Commando C101 (101" wheelbase) steadily grew in popularity. In 1972, AMC shortened the vehicle's name to Commando C104, extended the wheelbase to 104", and changed the front-end design to accept the AMC I6 and V8 304ci, similar to the Ford Bronco. The new configuration, formerly an AMC best seller, quickly caused the line to drop in popularity and was taken out of production in 1973; it was replaced with the full size Cherokee.
