Jed Stone
Jed Stone is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Kenneth Cope. He was a lodger of Minnie Caldwell's in the 1960s, and her nickname for him was "Sunny Jim". He made a reappearance after an absence of 42 years, only to tangle with local villain Tony Gordon. Cope also appeared in the 1988 special ''Minnie Caldwell Remembered''. Storylines Jed served time in a borstal in Manchester in 1960. He first appeared in April 1961 to see if his friend Dennis Tanner ( Philip Lowrie), who he had met in borstal would help him on a job – of dubious legality – but Dennis was not into that sort of thing any more and turned him down. He returned on 13 September ( the same day as Ida Barlow's funeral), reformed but unemployed, to find legitimate work with Dennis' help. Kenneth Cope
Kenneth Charles Cope (born 14 April 1931) is an English retired actor and scriptwriter. He is best known for his roles as Marty Hopkirk in ''Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)'', Jed Stone in ''Coronation Street'' and Ray Hilton in ''Brookside (TV series), Brookside''. Early life Kenneth Cope was born on 14 April 1931 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. Career Cope began playing character roles in films from the mid 1950's, and between 1961 and 1966, gained greater attention for his regular role in ''Coronation Street'' as the shady Jed Stone, a part he later returned to in 2008. The appearance led to the recording of a novelty pop single, "Hands Off, Stop Mucking About", with Tony Hatch. Although it was not a hit, it led to a regular slot as a disc jockey with Radio Luxembourg (English), Radio Luxembourg. Norris Cole (Coronation Street)
Norris Cole is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Malcolm Hebden. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 11 March 1994. Hebden had previously played the role of Carlos, Mavis Riley's (Thelma Barlow) Spanish boyfriend, in one episode in 1974.
