''Jeanne D'Arc - La Révolte Éternelle'' (English: '' Joan of Arc - The Eternal Revolt'') is the eighty-ninth release and twenty-sixth major studio album by German electronic music group Tangerine Dream. It was recorded during June 2005 at Eastgate Studios in Vienna, Austria and released in September 2005 through TDI Music. ''Jeanne d'Arc'' is the first Tangerine Dream album to feature Thorsten Quaeschning as a full-time member. The album also features a returning Linda Spa on saxophone. This is her first appearance on a Tangerine Dream album since '' Goblins' Club'' in 1996. Jerome Froese makes his final appearance after joining his father in 1990 for the '' Melrose'' album. Tangerine Dream
Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann. In 1979, Johannes Schmoelling replaced Baumann. Since Froese's death in 2015, the group has been under the leadership of Thorsten Quaeschning (Froese's chosen successor and the current longest-serving band member, having joined in 2005). He was joined by violinist Hoshiko Yamane in 2011, Ulrich Schnauss in 2014 and Paul Frick in 2020. Tangerine Dream are considered a pioneering act in electronica. V-Drums (Virtual Drums) are a line of electronic drums by Roland Corporation Introduced originally in 1997. Trigger types V-Drums trigger devices are of four major types: mesh-head drum pads, rubber pads, cymbal pads and acoustic drum triggers. Mesh-head pads look very similar to acoustic drums, and attempt to emulate their feel. The simpler, more generic type is a rubber pad, which is less expensive, but also looks and feels less like an acoustic drum. There are several models of cymbal pads (also called V-Cymbals). ''Melrose'' is the thirty-ninth major release and twentieth studio album by Tangerine Dream. This album was released in 1990 on the Private Music label founded by former Tangerine Dream member, Peter Baumann. The album further developed the instrumental pop style known from the previous two Private Music albums, ''Optical Race'' and ''Lily on the Beach''. Jerome Froese
Jerome Froese (born 24 November 1970 in Berlin, Germany) is a German musician who, in 1990, officially joined his father Edgar Froese in the band Tangerine Dream. He remained a member until 2006. Prior to his direct involvement in Tangerine Dream, Froese often appeared on the covers of the band's albums as a child, beginning with the 1973 release of '' Atem'', when he was two years four months old at the time the album was released. Career In 1982, Froese started playing guitar and keyboard. A few years later, in 1985, he began playing drums after he got a drumkit for Christmas. From here, Froese became proficient on both keyboards and guitar, leading up to his induction into Tangerine Dream. Froese's first guest appearance with the band was on their 1989 album, ''Lily on the Beach'', playing guitar on "Radio City". ''Goblins' Club'' is the fifty-fourth release and twenty-fourth main studio album by Tangerine Dream. Although sonically a counterweight to The Dream Mixes, it is usually considered the first album in the Millennium/TDI Years era due to the switch from Miramar, despite TDI not yet being the band's label. An Australian version lacked the track "Elf June and the Midnight Patrol," co-written by Linda Spa, replacing it with "Fort Worth Runway One" by Edgar Froese. A 2004 re-release included both, but edited the final two tracks to fit on the disc. ''Goblins' Club'' marks the final appearance of Linda Spa as a regular group member until returning for ''Jeanne d'Arc'' (2005). Linda Spa
Linda Spa (aka Mag. Gerlinde Spazierer, born 4 September 1968, in Vienna) is an Austrian composer. Originally she learned fashion design in Vienna, but soon started with her musical training. She studied flute, clarinet, saxophone and composition. In addition, Linda Spa is a trained conductor and arranger. In addition to many international artistic works, especially for theater and film music scores, actually in Austria in the field of stage- and acting music, she played for many years with Edgar Froese's band Tangerine Dream as saxophonist, keyboardist and conductor. She also composed for this ensemble, and also toured occasionally with the band in Europe and overseas till 2015. Thorsten Quaeschning (born 23 February 1977) is a German musician. He is the bandleader of the electronic music group Tangerine Dream which he joined in 2005. He performs synthesizers, vocals, guitar and drums. Early life Quaeschning was born in 1977 in Berlin within a classically trained music-loving family. As a child, he learned violin, piano, drums and flute and was drawn to classical composers such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Wagner, Telemann, Smetana and Mozart. Career Before joining Tangerine Dream, Quaeschning worked as a producer for the band Minory. Afterwards, he began to tour with Tangerine Dream behind the scenes in 2003 before joining them two years later. Quaeschning has a second band called Picture Palace music.
