Jeanna Schraeder
Jeanna Lyn Schraeder (born September 21, 1976 in Kelowna, British Columbia as Jeanna Richard) is a Canadian curler from Kelowna, British Columbia. Career Juniors Schraeder won her first junior provincial championship in 1991 playing lead for Allison MacInnes. She won again in 1994 and 1996 skipping her own teams, however she never won a national title. 2003–2009 Schraeder eventually joined up with 1995 World Junior Champion Kelly Scott. She played third for Scott at the 2003 Canada Cup. Schreader would not participate in the 2004/2005 season, as she was pregnant. The team would participate at the 2005 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, where they would finish first place in round robin with a 7-2 record. They would face Shannon Kleibrink in the final, and leading 7-5 after nine ends, would give up three in the tenth, losing the olympic bid to Kleibrink. Shannon Kleibrink
Shannon Kleibrink (born October 7, 1968 in Norquay, Saskatchewan) is a retired Canadian curler from Okotoks, Alberta. She and her team of third Amy Nixon, second Glenys Bakker, lead Christine Keshen and alternate Sandra Jenkins represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. They won a bronze medal. Career As a junior curler, Kleibrink lost in the final of the 1987 junior provincial championships, and in the Alberta final to qualify for the Canada Winter Games, both to LaDawn Funk. After losing in the final of the 1991 Alberta Scott Tournament of Hearts, Kleibrink won the 1993 provincial title, defeating Funk in the final. This qualified her to represent Alberta at the 1993 Scott Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national curling championship. There, her team of Sandra Jenkins, Sally Shigehiro and Joanne Wright finished 6-5. Canada Cup (curling)
The Canada Cup (branded as the Home Hardware Canada Cup for sponsorship reasons, and also referred to as the Canada Cup of Curling) is a major men's and women's curling championship in Canada. It is organized by Curling Canada and is one of its major events on its "Season of Champions". The event is frequently used as a qualifier for various other events, such as the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, Pre-Trials and Continental Cup. Since 2013, the Canada Cup is not held during the same curling season as the Winter Olympic Games. Kelly Scott
Kelly Scott (born June 1, 1977 in Winnipeg, Manitoba as Kelly Lynn Mackenzie) is a Canadian curler from Kelowna, British Columbia. Career 1995–2005 Scott won the 1995 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and the 1995 World Junior Curling Championships when she curled out of Manitoba. She was also runner up at the 1991 Canadian Junior Curling Championships when she played lead for Jill Staub. Scott moved to British Columbia with her family in the late 1990s. In 2005, she won her first BC Tournament of Hearts, defeating Patti Knezevic 7–6 in the final, winning in extra ends. 1996 Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The 1996 Maple Leaf Canadian Junior Curling Championships, the men's and women's national junior curling championships of Canada, were held February 3 to 11 at the Shamrock and Granite Curling Clubs in Edmonton, Alberta. The 1996 event was the first to be sponsored by Maple Leaf Foods. In their first season together, the Jeff Currie rink, representing Northern Ontario won the men's event, defeating future Olympic champion Ryan Fry and his team from Manitoba in the final. The team went on to represent Canada at the 1996 World Junior Curling Championships in Red Deer, where they finished fourth. It was Northern Ontario's fourth junior men's title. The women's side was won by the Heather Godberson (now Nedohin) rink from Alberta. Team Alberta would defeat Saskatchewan, skipped by Cindy Street in the final. Allison MacInnes
Allison MacInnes (born May 30, 1973 in Oban, Scotland) is a Canadian curler from Kamloops, British Columbia. She currently coaches the Corryn Brown rink. MacInnes is a two-time junior and two time provincial women's champion. MacInnes and her rink of Jeanna Richard, Sarah Eden and Renee Lemke represented British Columbia at the 1991 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The team would finish the round robin with a 4–7 record, well out of the playoffs. MacInnes returned at the 1992 Canadian Juniors with a new team of Erin Forrest, Heather Mockford and Jo-Ann Wright. That team won one more game, finishing with a 5–6 record. After juniors, MacInnes won two provincial titles. Her first provincial title came in 1998 as the second for Sue Garvey. At the 1998 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the team finished the round robin with a 6–5 record, tied with Saskatchewan's Cathy Trowell in 4th place. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two.
