Jeanie Finlay
Jeanie Finlay is a British artist and filmmaker from Stockton-on-Tees. Early life Finlay was born to an English mother and a Scottish father, who worked in life insurance. Her mother encouraged her artistic, creative side. Finlay was prescribed lithium following a period of isolation as a teenager, and credits a stay with her grandmother in Winchester during this period as key in her decision to become a filmmaker. Finlay studied art at Cleveland College of Art and Design and then contemporary arts at Nottingham Trent University. Her first film, ''Home-Maker,'' grew out of an installation art project as part of her course at Nottingham. Stockton-on-Tees
Stockton-on-Tees, often simply referred to as Stockton, is a market town in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, England. It is on the northern banks of the River Tees, part of the Teesside built-up area. The town had an estimated population of 84,318 in 2011. It is included in the Tees Valley mayoralty. Indietracks was an annual indie pop music festival at the Midland Railway in Butterley, Derbyshire, UK. The main site was located at Swanwick Junction. Bands played in variety of locations, including a restored church, in a train shed, and on the moving trains themselves. The event was staffed by volunteers, with the proceeds from the festival going towards the upkeep and renovation of the site and trains.
