Jean Vautrin
Jean Vautrin (17 May 1933 – 16 June 2015), real name Jean Herman, was a French writer, filmmaker and film critic. Life and career After studying literature at Auxerre, he took first place in the Id'HEC competition. He studied French literature at the University of Bombay; he became assistant director to Roberto Rossellini. Back in France, he produced five feature films. He became famous among the general public in 1989, winning the Prix Goncourt for his novel ''Un grand pas vers le bon Dieu''. His novel ‘Le Cri du Peuple’ was adapted as a graphic novel by Jacques Tardi. François Reichenbach
François Reichenbach (3 July 1921 – 2 February 1993) was a French film director, cinematographer producer and screenwriter. He directed 40 films between 1954 and 1993. Early life François Reichenbach was born in 1921 in Neuilly-sur-Seine into an extremely wealthy family of industrialists and businessmen. His father Bernard was a successful businessman and his mother Germaine had a passion for music, which she passed on to young François. His maternal grandfather Gaston Monteux was a wealthy industrialist: he was one of the first to buy paintings by Chagall, Braque, Picasso, Soutine, Utrillo and Modigliani. In his memoirs François Reichenbach says: "At the age of five I was terrified by all the faces in the paintings. And I became a forger. I added mustaches and hairs to the nudes of Modigliani. Serge Korber (1 February 1936 – 23 January 2022) was a French film director and screenwriter. He directed more than 40 films between 1962 and 2007. Successful as the director of comedies starring Louis de Funès in ''L'homme orchestre'' and '' Perched on a Tree'' (co-starring Geraldine Chaplin), he earned acclaim with his tragical drama '' Hearth Fires'' starring Annie Girardot and Claude Jade as mother and daughter. Miklós Jancsó
Miklós Jancsó (; 27 September 192131 January 2014) was a Hungarian film director and screenwriter. ''Jeff'' is a 1969 French-Italian crime film financed by Warner Bros.-Seven Arts. Starring Alain Delon and Mireille Darc, it tells the story of a gang of thieves who fall out after a robbery and start killing each other off. Plot In Paris, a gang rob a diamond merchant after abducting his wife and killing his chauffeur. The loot is given to Jeff, their leader, who will take it to a fence in Antwerp and then return to share out the cash proceeds. But he never returns. All of the gang believe he has cheated them, apart from Laurent who still trusts his leader. They leave one member to guard Laurent and go to Jeff's apartment, where they torture his mistress Eva.
