Jean Marius René Guibé was a French naturalist, especially a herpetologist. He was born on 18 February 1910 in Paris and died on 4 May 1999 in Caen. He was professor at the Paris National Museum of Natural History. ''Guibemantis'' is a frog genus in the mantellid subfamily Mantellinae. This genus is restricted to Madagascar. At present it contains 16 species divided into two subgenera. Calumma
''Calumma'' is a genus of chameleons endemic and restricted to Madagascar. The species formerly named ''Calumma tigris'' was transferred to the genus '' Archaius'' by Townsend et al., when they found that it is more closely related to ''Rieppeleon'' than to ''Calumma''.
